Chapter 14 - Making memories

During dinner, Jordan did his best to lift Yna's mood. He carefully cut her steak and occasionally served her portions of the side dishes.

"Thank you," she murmured softly each time, offering small, distracted smiles.

Daya quickly grew irritated watching their closeness and decided to interrupt.

"So, Chyna… how did you meet Dan?" she asked.

"He saved my life," Chyna replied simply.

"I heard you liked him" Chyna added calmly, her tone gentle but firm.

"Uhm… can we not talk about it?" Daya said uneasily.

"I'm not bringing it up to hurt you," Chyna replied with a faint smile. "I just want you to understand something—he belongs to me now. Completely."

"I know," Daya answered quietly.

"Good," Chyna said, and the conversation faded as they continued eating in silence.

After dinner, Daya decided it was time to act, but first she needed Jordan alone.

"Uhm… I'd like to tour the palace. Could you show me around?" she asked.

"Of course," Jordan replied.

He turned to Yna. "If you're tired, you can rest in our room. I'll join you after the tour."

"No, I'll come with you," Yna said immediately.

"Alright," he said, taking her hand and guiding her forward.

Daya frowned under her breath.

"She's far too clingy…"

Jordan led Daya through the palace halls, showing her different sections before eventually returning her to her room. Afterward, he walked back with Yna.

"Let's go somewhere. I have a surprise for you," Jordan said suddenly as they neared their room.

"Okay," Yna agreed with a soft smile.

"Close your eyes," he instructed.

She obeyed without hesitation.

They walked for a few moments before he stopped.

"Open them."

Yna's eyes slowly opened—and she froze.

Before her was a breathtaking lakeside setup. A table for two stood elegantly arranged beside the water, surrounded by blooming flowers and glowing lanterns. Heart-shaped balloons floated gently in the air while fireflies lit up the space like drifting stars.

Above them, swan-shaped decorations reflected the calm romance of the scene. The lake shimmered under the soft light, making everything feel unreal.

"It's beauti—"

She paused.

Jordan was gone.

"Jordan?" she called, suddenly uneasy.

Soft music began to play.

A hand touched her shoulder.

She turned—and found him standing behind her with a white rose.

She accepted it quietly, and he led her to the table, pulling out her chair for her.

"So… how do you like my surprise?" he asked.

"I love it. Thank you," she said, her voice brightening.

"I knew you would," he replied softly.

He stood and extended his hand. "My lady, may I have this dance?"

"Yes," she answered, placing her hand in his.

They danced slowly beneath the glowing lights, completely lost in each other.

Unseen by them, someone watched from a balcony above.

Her fingers tightened around the railing until her knuckles turned pale.

"I won't allow this happiness while I'm still here," she whispered.

Her green eyes darkened to black.

She began chanting in a foreign tongue. A sudden wind rose, disrupting the calm atmosphere. Moments later, rain began to fall, breaking the romantic illusion.

She groaned in frustration as the spell failed to achieve its intended effect.

But Jordan and Yna had already escaped back inside.

"Perfect," she murmured with a satisfied smile.

Unaware that her interference had changed nothing.

Jordan led Yna back to their room so she could change into dry clothes. Later that night, they stayed together until sleep eventually claimed them both
