Chapter 3 - 5. Memories

When they arrived at Chyna's room, she immediately hid behind Jordan as he slowly pushed the large doors open.

Jordan glanced around the room before his eyes landed on the snow-white cat resting comfortably at the center of the bed.

A small smile appeared on his face.

"So this is the terrifying creature that scared you?" he teased lightly.

Chyna peeked from behind him before nodding sheepishly.

Jordan crossed his arms and looked at the cat seriously.

"Rea," he said dramatically, "that is not how we welcome guests."

The cat immediately jumped down from the bed and walked toward him, rubbing softly against his leg.

Jordan sighed.

"Sorry, Yna. This little troublemaker is my pet. Her name is Rea." He bent slightly to stroke the cat's fur. "She was only trying to welcome you."

Chyna slowly relaxed.

The cat looked far too adorable to be frightening now.

Carefully, she bent down and gently stroked its soft white fur.

"Nice meeting you too, Rea."

The cat purred happily in response.

Jordan chuckled softly.

"I think she likes you."

He then looked at the cat again.

"Alright, Rea. Time to leave. Our guest needs to rest."

Rea let out a small meow before gracefully walking out of the room.

Jordan turned back toward Chyna.

"There," he said softly. "She's gone now. You can sleep peacefully."

He turned to leave.

"Wait."

Jordan stopped immediately and glanced back at her.

"Yes?"

Chyna hesitated nervously before speaking.

"Please… don't leave me alone."

For a moment, Jordan simply stared at her.

Then he sighed softly.

"Alright."

He walked back toward the bed and sat beside her.

Chyna quickly tucked herself beneath the blankets before intertwining her fingers tightly with his.

The room fell silent.

Only the sound of their breathing filled the air.

After a while, Chyna finally spoke.

"Jordan… thank you."

He turned slightly toward her.

"For what?"

"For always protecting me whenever I need you."

Jordan's expression softened instantly.

"That's because you're someone very special to me."

Silence followed once more as their eyes remained locked on each other.

Then Chyna looked away slightly.

"I saw something earlier," she admitted quietly. "A vision."

Jordan's expression immediately darkened with concern.

"What kind of vision?"

"I couldn't see their faces clearly," she explained softly. "But there were two children… a boy and a girl. I could feel how close they were."

Jordan listened carefully without interrupting her.

"It felt important," she whispered. "Like I was supposed to remember something."

Jordan gently squeezed her hand.

"Don't think too much about it tonight."

Before he could say anything else, Chyna suddenly wrapped her arms around him tightly.

"Can you stay like this until I fall asleep?" she asked softly.

Jordan froze briefly before nodding.

"Alright."

Time passed quietly as he held her close.

Eventually, Jordan realized she had finally fallen asleep.

A small smile tugged at his lips as he gently brushed a strand of hair away from her face before placing a soft kiss against her forehead.

"Goodnight, my love," he whispered.

His voice carried both warmth and sadness.

"I'm so happy your memories are finally returning." He smiled faintly. "Just a little longer, Yna… I can't wait until the day I can finally tell you everything."

Carefully, he loosened her grip and stood up from the bed.

But before he could leave, Chyna suddenly grabbed his hand tightly again.

The unexpected pull caused him to fall back onto the bed.

Jordan sighed helplessly.

"Yna… don't do this to me."

He gently tried to free himself again.

Then he froze.

"No… please don't leave, Jan…"

Jordan's entire body stiffened.

"Please listen to me…" she whispered in her sleep. "I love you… don't go… I can't live without you…"

His breath caught instantly.

Jan.

She had called him Jan.

Only one person had ever called him that.

Jordan stared at her in complete shock as realization crashed into him.

Her memories were returning.

And worse… she had loved him all along.

Pain twisted sharply in his chest as old memories resurfaced.

Why hadn't he listened to her back then?

Why had they been separated so cruelly before she could tell him the truth?

Anger and regret flooded through him all at once.

Unable to bear the emotions threatening to consume him, Jordan slowly pulled his hand free from hers before storming out of the room.
