Chapter 14 - 14: White Mansion

After the tour, Luffy forced them to stop at a café for lunch. The café was small but lively. The windows were open, letting in the breeze from the fields. Wooden tables filled the interior and the smell of fresh bread and fruit hung in the air.

Luffy had already claimed the largest plate available. "You have more?" he asked through a mouthful of bread.

The café owner blinked. "You've already had three whole batches."

"Yeah, but I'm still hungry." He never stopped stuffing his face as he spoke.

Zoro sat back in his chair, unimpressed. "You're always still hungry."

Orion rested his elbow on the table, chin in his hand.

"He's not bad," Orion said quietly.

Zoro snorted. "Who? Luffy?"

"No." Orion corrected, "I'm talking about Usopp."

"Yeah! That guy's funny!" Luffy chimed in jovially.

Zoro and Sanji huffed. "Funny? All he does is run his mouth…" The two said in unison before scowling at each other.

"Tch. So now you're being my echo? Useless cook." Zoro sneered.

Across the table, Orion leaned toward Luffy. "That mansion seemed pretty interesting, right Luffy?"

Luffy laughed. "It did! Let's go check it out!"

Orion and Luffy stood from their seats and headed toward the exit.

Sanji scoffed. "Of course you're hearing echoes. Your head's empty enough to bounce sound off it.

Zoro stood from his seat and drew one of his swords. "You wanna fight! Pervert cook!"

Sanji raised his leg with a smirk. "I would love to kick your face in!"

By the time the two knuckleheads had finished their skirmish, Luffy and Orion had already left.

Orion and Luffy stared up at the gate of the mansion.

"Do you think the rich lady will give us a real ship?" Luffy scratched his chin.

Orion thought for a few seconds before answering. "Probably not, she doesn't even know us."

Luffy nodded. "Yeah, but Usopp could ask her."

"He barely knows us either..." Orion added.

Soon, Sanji and Zoro caught up.

Sanji eyed the mansion. "What are we doing here? Not like we can just break in."

Zoro and Orion wordlessly turned to Luffy, and Luffy turned toward Sanji with a wide smile.

"I see..." Sanji exhaled a puff of smoke, he seemed to get the hint.

Luffy stretched out his left arm around Zoro, Sanji, and Orion. He then stretched his right arm and grabbed the top of the gate. "Gum-Gum Rocket!" Luffy shouted as he launched himself and the others into the air.

"Hahaha! Rescuing a land full of samurai from a dragon? You're adventures really are crazy~!" A young woman with short blonde hair laughed as she stood by her open window, leaning on the windowsill.

She stared out at a young man who sat in a tree outside. That man was Usopp.

Usopp smiled widely as he spoke to the girl. "Of course! As a brave warrior of the seas, my adventures need to be crazy!" He exclaimed.

"But back to the story. Let me tell you about the time I had to snipe an enemy from across an entire islan–!"

*CRASH*

Usopp's head whipped around, behind him a dust cloud had kicked up. As the dust cloud cleared, familiar faces were revealed.

"What the hell was that!" Sanji gripped Luffy by the collar and shook him angrily. "You can't just toss people around like that!"

Zoro groaned as he rubbed his rear. "The pervert's right this time. Talk about a crash landing..."

Orion just stood to the side, out of the conflict. He didn't really feel anything since he liquified himself before he hit the ground.

Luffy simply ignored Sanji, his eyes were on Usopp and the lady in the mansion. "Hey, rich lady! Give me a pirate ship!" He shouted with a smile.

Usopp was caught in a stupor. Those crazy bastards had fallen from the sky and in exactly the place he didn't want them at. "You guys followed me here!?" His teeth clenched as a bead of sweat dripped down his forehead.

The pale blonde girl had also turned toward the Straw Hats. "Are these friends of yours, Usopp?" The girl asked with an equally surprised expression. Four people had just fallen from the sky into her yard.

Usopp nearly choked on the air as he mustered an excuse. "N-N…..YEAH! They're the newest members of the Usopp Pirates!"

"Oh! And give us some food too!" Luffy shouted.

The girl covered her mouth as she giggled gently. "Your friends sure are lively~" She smiled.

"And they all need to leave immediately." A sharp, cold voice cut in.

Everyone turned. A man with short, slicked back hair, and a tailored black suit stood in the yard. As soon as Usopp saw the man, he visibly tensed.

"I'll have to ask you all to leave the premises immediately." He chastised.

The girl frowned at the man's words. "Klahadore. Don't be so mean to them."

The man, Klahadore, scoffed. "Mean? How can the words coming out of my mouth ever be mean to someone like Usopp? Someone who idolizes evil, nasty pirates?"

Usopp quickly slid down the tree with a scowl on his face. As he opened his mouth to speak, Klahadore quickly interrupted him.

"Oh, I'm so sorry. You have no reason but to idolize that trash. It's the only way for you to come to terms with the fact that your father left you and your mother to die while he 'chased his dreams'." Klahadore scoffed.

Usopp froze. He clenched his fist as his jaw tightened.

The blonde girl slammed her hands on windowsill. "That's enough, Klahadore–!"

Klahadore scoffed. "But it's not enough, Miss Kaya. He's the son of a filthy pirate. Who knows what's going on inside that head of his. He could be planning to steal from you after getting close enough."

Usopp's fist clenched tighter. He closed his eyes as he lowered his head. His body was shivering in anger.

Klahadore adjusted his glasses. "I wouldn't put it past him, I mean look at him. He's the son of a lowly crimina–!"

*WHAM*

Klahadore clutched his cheek as he fell to the ground. Usopp stood over him, his fist raised. "DON'T SAY ANOTHER WORD ABOUT MY FATHER! I'M PROUD HE IS A PIRATE! THAT HE IS A BRAVE WARRIOR OF THE SEAS!"
