Chapter 134 - The war council of the Three

he war room of the Ember Vow was unlike any chamber in the Imperium's history.

It wasn't adorned for ceremony — it was built for war. Tactical hololiths mapped half the galaxy in brutal, honest detail, entire sectors lit crimson with enemy presence.

And for the first time since Terra's cleansing, three forces converged into one.

The Arrival

Shawn stood at the central dais, his towering form — now over five meters after the Emperor's Primarch-level augmentation — casting a shadow across the war table.

Valen was at his right, silent, reading the currents of the Warp with sharpened Observation Haki.

Eristan stood to his left, cogitator nodes linked into the table, feeding data from Mars's newly rebuilt noosphere.

The first to enter was Guilliman. His armor gleamed, reforged by Mars's finest, its surface subtly rippling with an awakened Armament Haki that mirrored Shawn's teachings. His gaze was calm but carried an edge — the look of a man who had won a thousand battles and planned to win ten thousand more.

Behind him marched the Ultramarine High Command, all trained in basic Haki, their captains already applying Observation in battlefield coordination.

The second entrance shook the deck. Valdor strode in, flanked by his Haki-trained Custodes, each bearing the blackened sheen of perfected Armament Haki. At their side marched the Grey Knights, now moving with an almost psychic harmony — Observation Haki fused seamlessly with their psychic senses.

The Meeting

Shawn broke the silence first.

"It's been years." His voice was steady, but the weight behind it pressed against everyone present. "And yet… here we are. Still breathing. Still winning."

Valdor nodded once.

"The Eye bleeds slower now. My Custodes will hold it shut as long as necessary."

Guilliman's eyes scanned the galactic map.

"Segmentum Tempestus is nearly purged. But the Tyranids have adapted again. Their next push will be heavier."

Valen leaned in, his voice low but cutting through the room.

"And the Warp grows restless. The Chaos Gods have not forgotten Shawn. They've only begun to understand what his presence means."

Forces Assembled

The table's display shifted, showing the true scale of their combined might:

Shawn's Core Army — Veteran Salamanders, wayward Astartes, human regiments wielding basic Haki, elite Haki Masters capable of planetary sweeps.

Guilliman's Ultramarines — Fully integrated into Haki doctrine, combining Legion discipline with the soul-born power.

Valdor's Custodes — Unmatched individual warriors, their Haki applications now refined to rival Shawn's earliest masters.

Grey Knights — Serving as psyker-advisors to the Custodes, countering Warp threats before they manifest.

Mars Fleet — Built under Eristan, equipped with STC-based upgrades, Null fields, and mass Haki amplification tech.

The Decision

Shawn looked between them, his Conqueror's Haki rising unconsciously, a faint pressure building in the air.

"The scattered wars end here. From this point, we stop reacting. We choose the next war — and we choose the enemy."

Valdor's tone was absolute.

"Then it must be the Dark Eldar. Commorragh festers, and their slave raids feed the ruin of a hundred sectors."

Guilliman agreed.

"And every slave freed is another soldier for our cause. But it will cost blood."

Shawn's jaw tightened.

"I've seen how they treat humans. We'll burn their city to its bones."

The Final Beat

The map shifted again, targeting the Webway coordinates that led into Commorragh's labyrinthine heart.

Every commander in the room felt the silent agreement forming — this wasn't just another campaign.

It was a reckoning.

Shawn spoke the final words.

"Ready every fleet. This isn't a strike. This is the day the Dark Eldar learn what fear really is."

The war council ended without applause. Orders rippled across fleets and armies. The galaxy's three strongest Imperial commanders had chosen their next target.

And for the first time since the Great Crusade, the Imperium would march into the Webway not to explore — but to conquer.
