After some days, I suddenly decided to move back home I could no longer stay here.
So packing my luggage I left to me hometown I originally told my dad I would be coming back home.
After a long hours of ride I finally got to my home.
My father was waiting for me in the waiting room when I entered I saw my two brothers and thier wife's waiting I was happy because it had been a long time that she had been home.
After some hours of the service, my father finally came to meet me.
I was sitting with my brothers and their wives, happy to finally be home and spending time with them after such a long time.
But the moment Dad walked toward me, I noticed something different about his expression.
"Mia, my dear, I want to talk to you about something," Dad said.
I looked at him curiously.
"What is it, Dad?"
He sat beside me and took a deep breath.
"I know what happened between you and Winter has hurt you, and I don't want to pressure you into anything. But there is something I need to tell you."
I remained silent.
"There's a marriage proposal for you."
My eyes widened.
"What?"
Dad looked at me carefully before continuing.
"Prince Nathan."
I immediately stood up.
"No!"
Everyone became silent.
"Of all people, Nathan?" I asked angrily. "No, Dad. That's not possible!"
"Mia, calm down—"
"I can't get married!" I interrupted him. "I just got betrayed by Winter, and now you're telling me to marry someone else?"
I shook my head.
"No. I am not going to marry Nathan. Of all people, Nathan!"
My father sighed.
"You knew Nathan before. You were both friends."
"That was before!" I shouted. "Things have changed. I don't have feelings for him anymore."
My brothers exchanged glances while their wives remained quiet.
Dad looked at me for a long moment.
"I understand that you're hurt, but this proposal is not something you should reject without thinking about it."
"I've already thought about it," I replied. "My answer is no."
I turned away from him.
"I don't want to get married to anyone."
But deep down, there was another reason I was so angry.
Nathan wasn't just some stranger my father had chosen for me.
He was someone from my past.
Someone I had once cared about.
And the thought of marrying him now felt impossible.
