A bullet interrupted Old Bach's recruitment. He looked at Minkus's smoking gun and then at the blood flowing from his chest. The pain of his shattered heart rose up, causing Old Bach to sway, and he subsequently fell off his chair.
He lay on the ground and raised his hand, his eyes full of astonishment.
"I don't know what you're doing, but I will never collude with you!"
Minkus hurried forward, jumped onto the chair, and tried to stop the advancing progress bar in front of him. He didn't look at his fallen mentor; he said hoarsely:
"My mentor... died two hundred years ago, you're just a monster with his face..."
"Sigh, if Flywheel were here, maybe the persuasion would've succeeded. You're just as emotional and stubborn as ever, making decisions based on feeling."
Lying there, Old Bach coughed up blood while waiting for death to arrive.
He was unusually calm, speaking in a weak voice:
