Harry's training happened every day.
After the session, Harry's face was unrecognizable due to the number of injuries he had. But Harry never complained and did every training Voldemort threw at him. After a week, the result was finally showing. Harry still got hit by the rock, but the injuries were becoming less and less.
During that time, Voldemort kept visiting Nicolas and observing the process. Every day, Nicolas would ask about the condition of her wife, and Voldemort would answer that she was fine. The proof was that he was not dead, as the unbreakable vow would result in his death if he harmed Penerelle. On the fifth day, Voldemort took Nicolas to visit her wife, Penerelle, in her cell.
As soon as Nicolas entered the cell, he noticed how dim the surroundings were. Still, his eyes quickly found Penerelle, lying on a rocky bed with her hand cruelly chained to the wall. She looked weak, and Nicolas noticed the lingering trace of tears on her face.
"Penerelle!" Nicolas cried, rushing to her side.
He embraced her, keeping her closely in his grasp. So many days had gone by. He could only believe in the words of Voldemort.
Now, seeing her, feeling the warmth of her presence, reassured Nicolas of his wife's situation.
Tears continued to stream down Penerelle's face as she looked into Nicolas' eyes. "Nicolas, my love," she whispered, her voice light and weak. "I knew you would come for me."
As Nicolas held her tighter, he saw some injuries on her arms. He felt a burning rage building within him, directed at the dark figure standing by the cell's door.
With Penerelle in his arms, Nicolas turned towards Voldemort, his voice filled with anger. "What have you done to her? Why is she chained like this?"
Before Nicolas could finish his sentence, Voldemort raised his wand and cast the Cruciatus Curse. Agonizing pain surged through Nicolas' body, causing him to collapse to his knees. Voldemort's cold voice cut through the air, "Watch your tone, Flamel. Remember who you are talking to."
Perenelle shouted her husband's name again, her voice echoing through the cold, damp cell. "Nicolas!" she cried out, her eyes pleading with him.
Nicolas, though weakened by the effects of the Cruciatus Curse, managed to lift himself off the floor.
Voldemort had let Nicolas have his way. But there was a limit. He needed to show him who was really in control of everything.
"Your wife, knowing the Unbreakable Vow protected her from direct harm by me, decided to inflict pain upon herself. That's why she's chained, to prevent her from causing harm. Quite the clever move, I must say. If she kills herself, then I will have failed to protect her during this time. The unbreakable vow will take effect and kill me."
Nicolas turned his gaze toward Perenelle, searching for answers in her tear-streaked eyes. "Perenelle, why would you do this to yourself? What have you endured?"
Perenelle, though weakened and visibly in pain, managed a weak smile. "Nicolas, my love, I couldn't bear the thought of you enduring any more suffering on my behalf. I chose this, knowing that Voldemort couldn't harm me directly. I only wished to spare you."
Nicolas, overwhelmed by conflicting emotions, reached out to touch Perenelle's face gently. "You should not have to endure this. I will find a way to free you from this torment."
Voldemort, growing impatient with the display of emotion. "Enough of this sentimental exchange. You have already confirmed the state of your wife. Now, Flamel, back to work. The Philosopher's Stone won't create itself."
Nicolas wanted to spend more time with her, to be by her side. But for her sake, he needed to complete the stone.
"Have courage, my love. Soon we will be back together." Nicolas pressed his forehead against her.
And then he was taken out, and Perenelle found herself alone once again.
"Mission accomplished," thought Voldemort. He had seen how Nicolas's attention was not fully on the process. He kept asking about his wife. Now, his motivation to complete the stone will be more rapid upon seeing the state of his wife.
The days went by, and Nicolas was finally done with the first part: the potion.
Next, he took a bowl and began to write runes on it. After that, he placed the gold he had in the middle of the bowl and placed all the other metals around it. Finally, Nicolas poured the potion he made into the bowl until all the metals were submerged in the potion.
What he had to do next was what took the longest in the process of creating the stone. The potion had to go through days and nights while constantly being transformed by the four elements of nature.
Fire, earth, water, and air.
Fire was both hot and dry, earth cold and dry, water cold and moist, and air hot and moist.
Based on Nicolas's new calculation, he could use the existing elixir of Life to accelerate and even enhance the creation of the new stone. He had to constantly cast the transformation spell based on the element, which in turn would break apart the metals inside the bowl and merge them with the gold in the middle. All of that would be happening while the potion was being absorbed.
As the process was time-consuming and Voldemort knew that Nicolas had no way to betray him, Voldemort began the preparation for one of the most important things he was going to do. And the main character of his plan was none other than the boy who lived, Harry Potter.
------
Saturday 29th July 1995.
In the dark night, Voldemort was on a trip to 4 Privet Drive in Little Whinging, Surrey. He used the invisibility cloak to walk around and observe the Aurors' behavior and their routine. The Ministry of Magic has still placed some Aurors to watch if the wanted criminal, Harry Potter, would return to the Dursley family. After confirming that, Voldemort walked further down the street until he reached the house of the Muggle family, Polkiss.
The previous time Voldemort was here, he used a memory charm to make a young Muggle, Piers Polkiss, invite the whole Dursley family to his house for dinner. (Chapter 36)
Voldemort walked up to the door, and the white car of the Dursley family was parked outside the house. As he approached the door, he unlocked it and got inside.
