The Eraser moved.
There was no warning.
No roar.
No charging energy.
It simply disappeared.
Jin's eyes widened.
"Where—?"
BOOM!
A black fist struck the island's defensive barrier.
The entire stadium shook.
Gardevoir's barrier fractured.
Metagross slid backward.
Several Pokémon were thrown into the air.
"Everyone, hold formation!"
Jin's voice echoed across the island through the Administrator Network.
[COMMAND RECEIVED]
[ISLAND-WIDE DEFENSE: ACTIVE]
Thousands of Pokémon moved as one.
Blastoise created a wall of water.
Venusaur spread enormous vines across the ground.
Aggron and Steelix formed a steel barrier.
Gardevoir and Alakazam reinforced the psychic shield.
Dragonite and Salamence took to the skies.
The Eraser raised its hand.
A black sphere appeared.
Clemont screamed:
"GET AWAY FROM THAT!"
The sphere expanded.
Anything it touched disappeared.
Grass.
Rocks.
Trees.
Even the sunlight seemed to vanish.
Jin stared.
"It's erasing everything."
Astra shouted:
"Jin! Don't let it touch the mansion!"
Jin immediately turned toward the System.
"Administrator Network!"
[READY]
"Priority protection: Mansion!"
[MANSION DEFENSE: MAXIMUM]
A golden barrier appeared around the mansion.
The Eraser's black sphere struck it.
KRAAAAAAASH!
The barrier held.
For now.
Jin clenched his fist.
"Good."
The Eraser turned toward him.
"You protect structures."
Jin frowned.
"What?"
"You protect Pokémon."
The creature raised its hand.
"You protect worlds."
Its faceless head tilted.
"Why?"
Jin answered immediately.
"Because they matter."
The Eraser was silent.
Then—
"Incorrect."
The First Counterattack
"ASH!"
Jin shouted.
Ash understood immediately.
"Pikachu!"
"Pika!"
Ash raised his Z-Ring.
Energy exploded around him.
"Let's go!"
Pikachu leapt into the air.
10,000,000 VOLT THUNDERBOLT!
A gigantic lightning bolt descended.
At the same time—
"Steven!"
"Already moving!"
Mega Metagross launched forward.
"Leon!"
"Charizard!"
Gigantamax Charizard roared.
"Cynthia!"
"Garchomp!"
Crystalline energy erupted around Garchomp.
"Diantha!"
"Let's finish this!"
Mega Gardevoir raised both hands.
Five attacks converged.
Lightning.
Psychic energy.
Dragon energy.
Fire.
Steel.
The Eraser stood still.
The attacks struck.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
A massive explosion covered the battlefield.
Ash grinned.
"We got it!"
The smoke cleared.
The Eraser was still standing.
Untouched.
Leon stared.
"That didn't even scratch it."
Steven's eyes narrowed.
"Physical attacks aren't working."
Clemont checked his equipment.
"Energy attacks aren't working either."
Jin looked at the Eraser.
"What does hurt it?"
The Guardian answered.
[THE ERASER CANNOT BE DEFEATED BY POWER ALONE.]
Jin frowned.
"Then what do we use?"
[CONNECTION.]
Jin paused.
"Connection?"
The Guardian nodded.
[It deletes what has no connection to reality.]
Jin slowly understood.
"So..."
He looked at the Eraser.
"If we establish a stronger connection..."
The Guardian nodded.
[Then it cannot erase us.]
The Administrator's Real Power
Jin closed his eyes.
He could feel the island.
Every Pokémon.
Every human.
Every structure.
Every tree.
Every river.
Every stone.
All of it was connected.
The Administrator Network wasn't just a communication system.
It was the island's collective identity.
Jin opened his eyes.
"I understand."
Astra stared at him.
"What are you going to do?"
"Connect everyone."
Her eyes widened.
"Jin, that's dangerous."
"How dangerous?"
"You'll be connecting your consciousness to the entire island."
Jin smiled.
"I've already done it once."
"This is different."
"How?"
Astra looked at the Eraser.
"You're going to connect the island to another world."
Jin froze.
"The alternate Pokémon world."
"Yes."
Astra shook her head.
"If you connect two separate realities, the dimensional barrier may collapse."
Jin looked toward the alternate Ash.
Then toward the Pokémon.
Then toward Dimensional Island.
"We don't have another option."
Astra said nothing.
Jin raised his hand.
"System."
[AWAITING COMMAND.]
"Establish temporary dimensional connection between Dimensional Island and World One."
The System immediately displayed a warning.
[WARNING]
Connecting two realities may cause dimensional contamination.

Proceed?
Jin answered:
"Proceed."
[CONFIRMATION REQUIRED.]
Jin looked at the alternate Ash.
"Are you willing to trust us?"
The other Ash smiled.
"Yeah."
His Pikachu jumped onto his shoulder.
"Let's do it."
Jin nodded.
"Proceed."
[DIMENSIONAL CONNECTION ESTABLISHED]
The sky changed.
Two Worlds
The blue dimensional gate expanded.
Instead of a simple portal...
It became a window.
Through it, everyone could see the other world.
Cities.
Forests.
Oceans.
People.
Pokémon.
And thousands of trainers looking toward the sky.
The alternate Ash raised his hand.
"They can see us."
Jin nodded.

The Eraser stepped backward.
"STOP."
Jin smiled.
"Now we know."

A humanoid figure.

"NO!"

The black shell shattered.
A young man fell from the sky.

Jin looked at her.
"What?"
She whispered:
"That pendant belonged to the first Administrator."
Everyone became silent.
Jin looked at the unconscious man.
"The first Administrator?"
Astra nodded.
"The person who created Dimensional Island."
Cynthia's eyes widened.
"You mean the island wasn't naturally formed?"
"No."
Astra looked toward the mansion.
"It was built."
Jin stared.
"By whom?"
Astra looked at the unconscious man.
"By him."
The System suddenly activated.

Administrator Core: Damaged

Jin's expression changed.
"Get him inside."
The large Pikachu immediately called Chansey and Blissey.
"PIKA!"
Several Pokémon rushed forward.
The unconscious man was carried toward the mansion.
The Eraser was gone.
But the dimensional portal remained open.
The alternate Ash stared at the unconscious man.
"So..."
He looked at Jin.
"That was the enemy?"
Jin shook his head.
"No."
He looked toward Astra.
"Apparently..."
Astra nodded grimly.
"The enemy was using him."
Beneath the Mansion
Hours later, the battle was over.
The Eraser had vanished.
World One remained connected through a stable temporary gate.
The alternate Ash and his companions stayed on the island.
But Jin couldn't relax.
He stood inside the mansion's medical wing.
The original Administrator was unconscious.
Chansey and Blissey worked tirelessly.
Clemont monitored the equipment.
Astra stood silently near the bed.
Jin approached.
"How is he?"
Clemont shook his head.
"His body is stable."
"And his mind?"
"That's the problem."
Jin looked at the unconscious man.
"Can we save him?"
Clemont hesitated.
"I don't know."
The System appeared.

Jin frowned.
"Administrator Core?"
Astra looked at him.
"Don't touch it."
"Why?"
"Because if the original Administrator wakes up..."
She looked toward the sealed floor beneath the mansion.
"...the island may remember its original master."
Jin's expression became serious.
"You think it could reject me?"
Astra nodded.
"It's possible."
Jin was quiet.
Then—
BOOM.
The mansion shook.
Everyone looked up.
Another tremor.
BOOOOOOM.
Clemont rushed to the window.
"What was that?"
The System appeared.

Location: 1,200 meters below mansion

Administrator access required.

Unauthorized entity detected.
Jin looked at Astra.
She was already pale.
"What's down there?"
Astra whispered:
"The place where Dimensional Island began."
Jin turned toward the stairs.
"Then we're going down."
The large Pikachu stepped beside him.
"Pika."
[I'll come too.]
Jin nodded.
Ash stepped forward.
"So will we."
Cynthia, Steven, Leon, Serena, Misty, Brock, Clemont, and the alternate Ash all followed.
Jin looked at them.
"This could be dangerous."
Ash grinned.
"That's usually when we go."
Jin laughed.
"Fair enough."
The elevator doors opened.
Everyone stepped inside.
The doors closed.
The elevator began descending.

The lights flickered.

A strange voice whispered through the elevator speakers.
"Administrator..."
Jin looked up.
The voice continued.
"Why have you returned?"
Jin froze.
"I've never been here."
A pause.
Then—
"You have."
The elevator continued descending.
500 meters.
Astra suddenly grabbed Jin's arm.
"Don't answer it."
Jin looked at her.
"Why?"
Her expression was terrified.
"Because the island remembers every Administrator."
The elevator stopped.
DING.
The doors opened.
Beyond them was an enormous underground chamber.
At its center stood a gigantic machine.
Four crystalline structures surrounded it.
One blue.
One golden.
One red.
One multicolored.
And in the middle—
A fifth crystal.
Completely black.
The System appeared.

Then it began glowing.
A voice echoed through the chamber.
"Welcome home..."
Jin's eyes widened.
The voice continued.
"...Administrator Jin."
Astra stepped backward.
"No."
Jin turned toward her.
"You know that voice."
She shook her head.
"I thought he was dead."
Jin looked back at the crystal.
"Who?"
Astra whispered:
"Your predecessor."
The black crystal cracked.
CRACK.
Something opened its eyes inside.
