Chapter 881 - Chapter 881: Fusion Bombs

"An entertainment-purpose angel?" El asked in surprise.

That name didn't sound like something meant for combat at all.

"Naughty."

Alaric casually knocked Ikaros on the head.

"Ow!" Punished, Ikaros stuck out her tongue.

"Don't listen to her nonsense. This child was spoiled by my disciple. In reality, she belongs to the category of 'strategic-purpose multifunctional angel.'

The 'entertainment-purpose' label is just a joke," Alaric explained, half amused and half exasperated.

"I see." El nodded in understanding, though inwardly he was frantically complaining.

[Isn't she just a weapon for war? Why treat her so kindly? Causing such a blunder and not even being punished, I really don't understand what you people are thinking!]

As a traditional god, El was someone who cared greatly about hierarchy and authority.

Ikaros was the first-generation product of the Pool of Angelic Reincarnation, as well as the crystallization of the wisdom of Alaric and Daedalus.

In fact, Ikaros was precisely the kind of angel capable of battling a chief god. However, creating such an angel was extremely difficult.

Not only did it require a soul of exceptionally high quality, but it also demanded an enormous infusion of divine power.

Even for a chief god, that level of divine power required a long time to accumulate.

But such costs were worthwhile.

At Ikaros's level, the limitation of wings was no longer meaningful.

The number of wings alone could no longer reflect her strength.

In truth, as long as she had sufficient energy and fought at full output, she possessed the potential to destroy a planet single-handedly, just like any chief god.

Alaric did not respond to Ikaros's words, instead turning to El beside him.

"Your Majesty the God-King," he asked, "is there any place nearby that can be destroyed?"

"Anywhere will do." El gave a self-deprecating smile.

"This is the end of the divine river, the valley of the abyss, a place abandoned by the gods. Only someone like me, who has been cast aside, would live here.

So go ahead and destroy as you wish, no one will notice."

"I see." Alaric nodded indifferently, then looked at the girl beside him. "Ikaros, it's time for you to show your abilities. Consider it a test of your weapons system."

The three of them walked out of the palace.

"Then let's use that mountain as the target. What do you think?" Alaric pointed toward a mountainside in the distance and asked El.

"This… is it really okay?" El hesitated. "Isn't it too large? And this is a mountain in the divine realm, its sturdiness is not comparable to that of mortal stone."

The existence of the divine realm was sustained by the power of the gods. Thus, everything within it was far more durable than its counterpart in the mortal world.

Generally speaking, only gods could destroy such things.

He still did not believe that an "angel" could possess destructive power on the level of a deity.

"Seeing is believing." Alaric turned to Ikaros. "Now then, Ikaros, don't embarrass me."

"Understood." Ikaros replied in her usual calm tone.

Then, her entire state began to change drastically.

More white armor covered her body. Her eyes, which were normally dark green, began to glow yellow, eventually turning into a dangerous red.

At the same time, her pair of pink wings rapidly expanded and transformed, emitting a faint blue light. The golden halo above her head shone brilliantly.

"Designation: Alpha. Ikaros, commencing sortie!"

Without any visible flapping of her wings, Ikaros shot into the sky in an instant.

"Link established!"

Floating in the air, she continued. Behind her, a massive phantom suddenly appeared.

Her blue wings transformed into transmission conduits, connecting her to the enormous entity behind.

Then, the phantom solidified into reality, manifesting fully in the sky.

At a glance, it resembled a gigantic spacecraft, its high-tech form adorned with ferocious steel wings, densely packed with weapon systems.

That was the Uranus System.

This system was created by Alaric and Daedalus based on the ultimate creation of the technological civilization underlying the Olympian pantheon, the spaceborne mothership: the Sky Lord "Uranus."

Naturally, it utilized remnants of the magical technology of the Olympian pantheon, while also incorporating their own research.

The blueprints came from Aphrodite, who, as the divine being evolved from Uranus's intelligent core system, retained related memories.

Of course, with Alaric's current abilities and resources, it was impossible to fully recreate the entire "Uranus."

However, reconstructing a portion of it and using it as a weapon system was achievable.

And as a strategic-purpose multifunctional angel with the highest output capacity, Ikaros undoubtedly had the authority to summon the Uranus System.

Clearly, Alaric and El had very different understandings of what "strategic-purpose" meant.

The latter might think it referred merely to dominating ground warfare, but in Alaric's view, anything that did not possess interstellar-level influence could hardly be called "strategic."

What Ikaros manifested now was only a portion of the completed Uranus System.

"Permanent homing air-to-air missiles, launch!"

In the next instant, countless missiles fired from the Uranus System.

Each one possessed the power of a fusion bomb, and their numbers were as dense as a swarm of locusts, surging toward the distant mountainside.

Naturally, without such power, it would be impossible to cause destruction in the divine realm.

Boom, boom, boom boom boom,

On the mountainside, violent explosions rang out without end, each one like a bursting sun.

No, that was truly the power of the sun erupting within them.

Although Alaric did not possess the capability to create fission bombs, he could leap directly to creating fusion bombs, thanks to the advantages of magic.

Just like the reactions within the sun, when creating these fusion bombs, Alaric had not studied thermonuclear fusion at all.

Instead, he directly extracted and utilized the concept of the sun itself, manifesting it within the weapon.

Even in the divine realm, its destructive power was astonishing.

Watching the mountainside completely collapse before his eyes, El stood dumbfounded.

Was this truly the effect of a man-made weapon created by a human?

This had already reached the level of an attack from a chief god.

But it was no surprise, after all, it was the result of thousands of fusion bombs.

In the mortal world, without the constraints of true ether, this level of attack would be enough to scour the surface of the planet.

But it wasn't over yet.

Alaric turned toward another direction.
