Clang!
But then, his sword had met another. A crimson symbol, a magical symbol. A man with blonde hair had quickly come out of it and had met the sword of light with his sword of black.
"Kiba...?"
"Hey Issei, I thought you could use a hand."
"Oh, this is gross. Talk about a nasty mess."
A woman in a standard black Kuoh uniform, her purple eyes stared at what was in front of her: a corpse. Even though she seemed disgusted, her face didn't change as she moved out of the magical circle that was floating in the air of the room.
Then after her, a woman with white hair and yellow eyes had stepped through. She wore a white shirt, a striped shirt, with a hair ornament in her hair right next to her ear.
"An exorcist."
"You guys came...?"
"Hell yeah, now we've got ourselves a good ole fashioned gang bang."
It had seemed like he was happy. He gripped the handle of the sword of light tighter in one arm as he used his other arm to aim his pistol towards them.
"You're done here... Sorry to disappoint you, but he's one of us."
"Oh, I'm far from disappointed, trust me...! So what's the deal, you're the pitcher and he's the catcher?"
"For a priest, that's quite a mouth you've got there."
Kiba had tightened his grip on his sword as he bent his back slightly forward and spaced out his knees. He was ready to strike.
The brown hair and hazel eyes stared at what was in front of him. There, there was Kiba, with his sword held tightly in his hands, while Akeno and Koneko were behind.
"What are you, the impiety police...? Get off your high horse, douchebag. Hunting your kind is my only concern...! So stop preaching and let's get to it!"
Akeno's head had tilted as her violet eyes stared towards Freed. A smile was on her face.
"My, my, this guy certainly is a piece of work."
"And you, my dear, are a hot piece of ass...! Oh, those eyes are killing me. There's nothing I lust after more than a sexy devil bitch...!"
"Hey, hey, only I get to say that to her. You are touching a boundary you shouldn't cross!"
My voice was as clear as possible to let a pest know their bounds. They should be trying to touch what is mine.
I stepped through the portal, though I wasn't the last one. I was only here because I was brought along. I detested feeling it, that holiness. For some reason, I felt weird around it.
Even though I wasn't a devil, it felt like my instincts were telling me to stay clear of it. But like I was meeting an insect, I paid no mind to it.
A clear white line shot out. Even though I hadn't moved my hands, it had still moved. Simply and as quickly as an arrow.
This was my technique, Shrine. I had used Cleave. It was an unseen cut that had started to make its way towards him. When it made its way forward, inch by inch, it cut through the air, making an audible sound each time that the cut had cut itself into the floor of the building. Each inch forward left a straight line through the floor.
Thud!
But he had sensed the way the air had changed. Though he could not see it, he had seen the redness in the sky above, the wind blowing across his skin, and the smell of blood in the air. And he had seen the way the floor would quickly change, with nothing but that straight line cutting away all in its way.
The cut had made its way towards him, slicing the ground of the building like it was tofu. There it was, a straight and clean cut that had been made from the left side, across the entire room.
"What the hell was that...?"
The dust from the ground that had been cut settled. But the man in front of me had dodged by jumping to the left. The way I used Cleave was amateurish. I could just use it all out, like I had done with Akeno. What if the building collapses? And I only practiced the one-way strike. The best way I could use it was in a one-way direction.
But before I could continue, a woman with crimson hair, the color of blood, had walked through the magical circle, her eyes of blue as she stared ahead.
A single magical circle had appeared in front of her fingers as she raised her hand, her palm was out. It was quick and fast. Red and black converged into one, like a beast that was rampaging. The mana had sprung out, targeting Freed at a speed that even he couldn't react to.
"Well, look who finally showed their tits. Don't get ahead of yourself, though, 'cause I'm pretty sure I just hurt him."
Freed had voiced his thoughts aloud. For some reason, Freed, an exorcist, was paying no mind to me, the man that had almost critically injured him. He was seeing me as an ant...? Why was that...? Was it because her attack did more damage...?
But it didn't look like that. He was unscathed from her attack, it didn't even look like he was injured.
"It's all right... I'm here."
Rias had directed these words to the boy behind me, Issei Hyoudou. I didn't really like him, but I still didn't do anything. I just watched them. I stepped away from her and went towards Akeno right behind her. My arms wrapped around her waist, then I had moved my head, I let my chin rest against her shoulders. Even in this situation, I didn't really care what happened.
"I'm sorry that I let you down again... I tried, but I failed you."
His head bowed down, looking at the ground instead of looking upwards. It was clear he was disappointed with himself.
Rias's hands had met the right side of his cheek, lightly pushing his head upwards so that his eyes met hers.
"I'm the one who's sorry... I sent you into the hands of an exorcist, and I had no idea. There was a barrier in place here until a moment ago, so we didn't even realize."
"You were supposed to make the barrier... Little bitch, die."
Freed had spoken when he had begun kicking Asia, the Asia that was on the floor in a kneeling position.
As he kicked her in the stomach, he kicked her nonstop. One, two, three, he still continued.
"I never forgive people who try to do harm to one of my servants... Nor do I forgive those who pick on the weak. And I especially don't tolerate insidious wretches like you. Your terrible evil has no place in this world. That's why I'm here to purge it."
Her voice was serious, and there was no smile on her face. And mana with the color of blood, the same color of her hair, came flooding out into the room.
"Well, shit... Big Red over there could be a problem... I may need some back-up."
"Hey, you. Why do you say that about her, but not me? Am I really an ant to you? From my point of view, you look like an insect, so why are you treating me like I don't exist...?"
I had raised my voice so all of the people in the room could hear me. My voice was filled with disgust and utter annoyance. This ant, with his own words, said I'm a nobody, not even worth his time.
But before I could even get an answer, Koneko's voice had cut my question apart.
"Fallen angels are here."
His laughter caught my ear. Freed was laughing.
"Just in the nick of time too...! Hope you're hungry 'cause light spears are on the menu!"
It was like, with these fallen angels, he could do anything in the world. The way he spoke about it seemed like that.
"We can do this later."
Akeno's hand had touched my arms, unattaching myself from herself. But before I could complain, her voice got caught into my ear. Her voice was soft and light, but the way she had said it was seductive. But in a second, she had changed back to her normal face as she faced Rias.
"So what's the plan...?"
"Right now, we just need to get Issei out of here. Akeno, prepare to jump. Koneko, make sure we have Issei."
"'Kay."
"Hey, hey. What should I do...?"
The me that was next to Akeno couldn't help but ask what I should do, like I was a kid in a mall trying to find toys.
"Nothing."
Koneko's calm voice was no longer calm. Did she warm up around me? She spoke to me normally.
"Insistent Pervert."
But then she had continued with an insult directly to my face. But Koneko was calm. She moved towards the small couch that was behind us. She had lifted it easily, and in the next second, she had thrown it at Freed. He had tried to dodge by jumping backwards, but before he could.
Thud!
The couch that Koneko had thrown had landed on his back.
As he was incapacitated for a moment, I stood on the circle.
"We can't leave! What about Asia?"
"I'm afraid only members of my household can jump with this magic circle... Sorry, but it wouldn't work."
Rias's voice was cold as she spoke. She spoke the utter truth, but Issei could not understand that.
"No... Please wait. Don't do this...! I am not going to leave her behind. You have to put me down so I can rescue her...!"
"Asia!"
His voice became louder and louder until he had screamed her name out as his hand stretched out. But it was not there. She was far away from his hand, and she was near Freed, not Issei.
"Go without me... Please go. I'll see you soon. Trust me, I will."
