The back of his head was all she saw at first. Her omnisense didn't reach far enough to see the other side, but the slurping sounds were plenty for her to figure out what was happening.
A sly grin spread. "What if I'd been with Alice, huh?"
Erik chuckled and glanced over his shoulder. "The door would have simply never opened, you know that."
Astrid chuckled and finally strode forward, hopping over the back of the sofa and landing next to him with a satisfying thump. "You don't think she minds being locked out of common rooms so often?"
Her question was meant in jest, but there was a grain of an edge underneath. They all cared about Alice.
Erik's mirth sank a little. He didn't like doing it, but neither did he want to restrict himself to the bedroom for things like this. Of course, that was what normal families did, but who wanted to be normal…?
