Chapter 100 - Chapter(93)

Episode(93) 46th Floor, His Abnormality

SOVEREIGN OF DEATH~(93)

[Before you!]

I yelled at the beautiful greyish blonde haired beauty.

In a tight situation, Camilla could barely focus and an attack came from the front.

Luckily, in time with the shout she was able to avoid the attack.

With a leap, she stabbed towards the huge spiders eyes gouging out one of its eight eyes.

-Kiieee!!

The monster shrieked and inched back feeling the sharp pain in its eyes and Camilla took the time to leap back.

But, she didn't take the initiative to attack.

What a waste, I sighed.

If she had, she could have severed a few more of its legs then mounted it to finish it off.

Still, it's a good enough result with her current skills.

Seeing that she couldn't get the finishing blow quickly I stepped forward.

[Good job, now switch for a minute!]

Without an ounce of hesitation, Camilla stepped back creating distance.

She had been with Nagisa for a long while now and with his skills she really had no choice but to trust him.

The moment I leapt to the front, the spider shot it's steel like web straight at my chest.

If this landed, it would pierce right through andcreate a bloody hole, yet I shifted my body still airborne and stepped off the walls of the cave dashing from side to side and slipped behind the spider easily slicing off its back legs.

[Kiiieee!!!]

It hurriedly tried to escape with a leap.

Normally it could get away, from what Nagisa had seen from these spider monsters they had an unnaturally strong leaping power.

But, all paths were already sealed and there was no getting away.

[You're Up, Camilla!]

Watching the spider monster fall in her direction, Camilla who stood still pouring mana into her sword spoke.

[Yes!]

Releasing a concentrated breath, she drew her sword.

Along with a metallic sound came a blade of light condensed from magical power soaring through the air and splitting the monster in half.

Purple blood fell like rain.

Not until the corpse landed with a heavy thud did Camilla finally release her stance and heave a breath.

She looked down at her hands holding the sword, if you asked her before she would never be a match for this kind of monster.

Instead of killing, she would be the one dead and eaten as its dinner.

But, finally she had gained the strength she always desired.

And most importantly this wasn't just a one-time boost of strength but her limits no longer had walls blocking her growth.

She glanced up at the figure walking towards her with a smile.

It was all because of him.

[That was some nice work]

Admiring the energy slash she had performed, I gave Camilla a high five.

It still left a lot to be desired, but expecting a novice, especially one with as low a sense for fighting as Camilla to master the sword quickly was like asking rice to make porridge by itself.

Things like this took patience, and it's not like I didn't have the time.

Three weeks had passed since her revival, both Camilla and Nagisa took their time however they still didn't waste time in the dungeon.

Still, it took three weeks just to reach the 46th floor. This should give you an idea of how large the dungeon truly was.

However, one could say that this was a blessing as it gave me time to get to know her and eventually the ice that kept things awkward between us at the beginning had finally all but melted.

I decided to treat her as a swordsman due to her obsession with actual strength.

With the problem arising from her imbalance of magical power and physical strength resolved this much was no issue.

Still, she really was strong.

And, because I had tweaked her body she had only gotten stronger with two additional traits from reconfiguring of her soul and vessel.

Even with a (B) rank strength enhancement power, she was literally no weaker than monsters.

If he had to say, Nagisa felt like she would only be second to himself if they were on the same level.

What a monster!

But, she still needed ample time to get used to her new strength.

Thanks to that, her already clumsy combat skills became somewhat worse.

This was better since it gave me a chance to train her from zero.

On the way here he could have even slaughtered all the monsters by himself without her assistance, however doing this would deny Camilla any possibility of growth.

It would be annoying if rather than helping him, she became a hindrance with that princess always needing a white knight scenario.

If I train her then I can more freely act while fighting and I can even leave small fry to her.

On the other hand, the Saint class has an indestructible barrier that can even block higher ranking opponents attack for a certain amount of time.

The level of the opponent cannot be too high, but if it's used against these normal monsters it should be enough protection for her.

Thus I decided to help her level up.

Leveling up skills and levels are two totally different matters however, leveling up still provided some skill proficiency even if it was small.

To level up, one just needs to kill monsters.

And while you can gain some proficiency for skill leveling from leveling up directly, the main way to go about it was increasing your understanding of your own skill.

It wasn't just about using it consistently, that would just be wasting mana.

Perhaps Nagisa, with his monstrously large magical capacity could do that but even he would find it a hassle.

Additionally, for him understanding his skills wasn't that difficult and upgrading proficiency just took a matter of glancing at the skill for a while.

But, it was bound to be different for regular human beings that this alien creature.

I can only hope that as she uses her holy magic more then she can understand a bit more about the barrier.

In fact, the main reason Nagisa placed her up front was so that she could get hurt and heal herself with holy magic so as to increase her efficiency and understanding, but he would never say it out loud.

It was better to let her think he was moved by her fearless spirit.

In any case, as long as her "Barrier of Protection(B)" becomes (A), she could not only protect herself but even against more powerful enemies, even if it's just for a second it would give Nagisa the chance to counter and quickly end a battle.

She also has swordsmanship, which according to her skills are mainly given to those with 'Talent' in that field even if they do not have a class or trait related to the certain skill.

Though one can also gain a skill through effort, she gained this skill not long after picking up a sword.

This 'Talent' doesn't seem to be measured as a high amount of talent, but it just means a talent for growing faster in something that others granted one the opportunity to acquire a skill so long as they fulfilled the conditions.

Though, unique skills belonging to occupations can't be learnt, those basic ones only took a matter of working harder to gain.

As for Camilla's talent in the sword, it could only be ranked better than mediocre.

The criteria for learning skills without a class seems to be having average or higher talent in that field.

At any rate, with her current strength at (-A) swordsmanship was deadly for the regular monsters.

Camilla sheathed her sword and glanced at Nagisa.

[That monster was tough, I'm surprised you could avoid the attacks so easily]

I thought back to the fight, I didn't exert much strength than usual so I was passive about it.

[I think it's weak though...]

This guy, only someone like him could say such a monster was weak. He was a monster himself.

She could only shake her head.

[That's only for you!]

Well, what do you expect me to say?

Nagisa shrugged.

What was weak was weak, and the spiders were weak.

The only attacks they had was either shooting steel like webs, jumping about or attacking with their long sharp legs.

What was so difficult about dealing with such a monster?

Wasn't it just a matter of waving the sword once?

But, I guess to her they must be a challenge.

Scratching my chin, I decided to use this time to make her keep her guard up.

[In that case you shouldn't get complacent because I'm here]

Camilla rolled her eyes.

[I know that much...]

The guy who treated those monsters like small fry was telling her not to let her guard down, this was a joke.

But she knew as well that she wasn't strong enough to disregard the strength of these monsters and her own weakness.

But, there was genuinely nothing strange about it. I could literally kill these monsters in one blow, why pretend I couldn't?

This attitude however made Camilla feel depressed.

She sighed.

[Even the heroes struggled to defeat these monsters]

Heroes huh?

Was it the heroes that existed before they summoned us to this world?

Recalling the words of the princess and the king, Nagisa went over it and felt it wasn't right.

Even according to Camilla's words the past heroes were very powerful.

[Why are such guys struggling against monsters I can beat? Are you trying to fool me?]

No, if you think about it that way Camilla felt this guy was much more terrifying.

She sighed again.

[I give up trying to tell you that you are abnormal]

What abnormal?

Even back in his old world Nagisa felt like he was at the peak of humanity but he was still a human, there was nothing abnormal about him.

[I trained to get this strong, how rude]

[Yeah Yeah]

Camilla however shrugged him off.

This had already become routine chatter for the two and Nagisa didn't really feel offended.

Instead, it was Camilla who saw Nagisa's face slightly furrowed and asked

[So? What have you been worrying about since earlier?]

Knowing him, it definitely had something to do with fighting or monsters.

Possibly it was both fighting and monsters!
