Chapter 94 - Chapter(88)

Episode(88) Found a body?

SOVEREIGN OF DEATH~(88)

[Let's get rid of these nuisances]

Mana surging around his body like an ocean, Nagisa raised a hand to the air and several spears and stakes of water formed in the air.

Let's just wipe them out completely.

Deciding that he'd waited patiently enough for the enemy to show their head, he fired the volley of attacks towards the crowd.

Pfft!

『Kiieek!!』

Disgusting purple blood spurted through the air almost forming a rainbow.

A rainbow can form underground, and from blood at that.

[Alright, guess I'll take care of the few who get away]

The storm of attacks had mostly cleared out the spiders, however some had managed to escape the attack without damage.

After all, it's difficult to lock down targets in a crowd. For that, I'd need a more wide area attack that a single target attack like forming weapons.

Well, the results were good enough.

With that thought, Nightfall was drawn from its sheath and Nagisa stepped forward his figure moving like a blur.

A spider that charged at him leapt through the air, but the speed Nagisa was moving was too fast.

The moment it leapt up, a blade had long cut through its exterior spilling bloody halves twirling in the air.

It didn't end there, in a consecutive fluid motion Nagisa targeted spider monsters one after the other leaving a trail of purple blood.

Swish*

Coming to a halt, a spider shot a web at his legs trying to close the distance quickly however, Nagisa only stepped back and kicked the incoming spider.

Slow.

These spider monsters indeed had an overpowered ability being capable of blending into the environment, not to mention their defenses was a notch above average.

But, was it better than the troll king who could not only kill a portion of his attacking force but also redirect it?

No way!

Nagisa summoned more water spears and sent them flying towards a group of spiders while swinging nightfall at the remainder that charged at him directly.

[So, that takes care of those guys]

Finally I no longer needed to be in the same space as those disgusting bastards!

Still, regardless of my disgust it's better I found out what I'm gonna be dealing with now than later.

The revulsion I felt for spiders, no for bugs overall was still present but I could now be prepared for attacks related to spiders.

At least, there should be other bug type species on upper floors but seeing as the ones to kick the party off was spiders, this must be the concept.

Most of all, those webs. Although I dealt with them so easily now, if the once on the 41st floor had such strong webs then what about those on higher levels.

Even if I can cut through them all, if I get caught in a powerful web then it might be bad.

But, it's not all over. As I said, knowing the concept beforehand also means understanding the weakness.

[And the weakness of most insect type monsters?]

Easy!

It was none other than fire!

Nagisa grinned unable to contain the excitement he was feeling.

With that thought, I advanced through the dungeon at a comfortable pace.

I wanted to leave as soon as possible, but I also knew that rushing wouldn't help. Contradictory, but even with Reluctance I am no immortal so I still have to be cautious or else I'll meet a natural counter to my skills.

Please let there be no bugs!

Maybe it was due to my earnest prayer being heard? Maybe it was even due to my luck, nah.

I shouldn't throw around the word luck with my abysmal level of luck.

I mean, getting caught by a super organization on the first day and thrown into this death trap, who has less luck than this guy?

But, thinking back then they called me a variable?

Was it because I killed those knights? Even so, if I wanted to not be seen as a variable it meant being surrounded by those guys and turned into a sieve.

No thank you!

Nagisa felt that regretting his actions was meaningless, after all if he hadn't done what he had he would have been killed mercilessly.

At any rate, making it to the 43rd floor he'd made contact with spiders, beetles, praying mantis and even wasp type insects.

My previous guess about spiders being the main concept might have been wrong, but these guys still give me the creeps.

Not to mention, comparing the size of these bugs to those on earth, even bug enthusiasts might wet themselves and be disgusted.

And if you compare the spiders je faced on the 42 and 43 floors, they were all a size bigger on each floor and had stronger defenses.

You might think them being bigger meant being able to target them better, no. Bigger meant stronger, faster and more durable.

Of course, dispatching each one whether by blade or fist or kick didn't change the outcome of dying for the insects, Nagisa just felt the need to complain.

Let's look on the bright side.

Now, he was on the 43rd floor.

I don't know how many floors are in this dungeon to be exact, but at least I'll be out of here in a month's time if I keep up my pace.

There was also the option of going full throttle, but that also meant he'd have to take a day's break each time and that meant sleeping in a place where bugs might crawl into his mouth while he slept.

Nope!

My current pace was good enough. All I need to do is rest on each floor for an hour's worth of time each day and I didn't need to sleep, only let the mana inside me wash over my body.

Sleep still had its charm, but Nagisa realized that his amount of mana seemed to have a subtle change as if he reawakened cells were evolving constantly due to the overflowing abundance of mana he had.

In the end, sleep was unnecessary.

Let's rest here.

With that, he took out a blanket and laid it on the ground with a cushion placing it against a rock to lay down.

These were all made with monster materials and had effects that would restore health and stamina just by laying down.

Also-

He took out the magic fruits he hadn't eaten in a while, drool dripping as he couldn't wait to take a bite.

With these fruits, monster meat and so forth food is mostly taken care of, Water is provided through water magic and I can also squeeze the fruits to make magic juice.

Basically squeezing a fat cow for all its worth.

Not to mention, water conjured through magic was extremely pure and felt extremely refreshing to drink.

[Hm?]

Playfully throwing and catching a stone, Nagisa tossed it against the wall to see if he could pull off a trick shot randomly, but when the stone hit the ground it sank deep into the soil.

What's this?

Testing it, Nagisa also realized that the ground wasn't solid. No, it felt more like a lump of soil tossed over water. As if the moment he stepped there he would sink.

But, such an obvious trap, wait-

[This doesn't seem like a trap that's active anymore]

Was it a trap that was active long ago but was only activated by someone else? Then, did I finally catch up to where the dungeon hadn't completely absorbed the previous challengers?

Excited, Nagisa used water manipulation to clear the dirt from the top of the water trap and froze.

[Is, that a body?! It doesn't seem decayed!]

No, does it even make sense that the body hasn't decayed? According to what the Valkyrie had said, the last group of people to enter was the previous heroes and she spoke as if it was a long time ago.

Why wasn't it decayed?

It strange, but let's examine the corpse first.

Grabbing the arm of the body, Nagisa pulled the girl up without resistance even as it was impaled.

It's not for any naughty purposes, purely magic research okay?

Don't swim in the gutter all the while, your mind will rotten.

[Still, a girl? Who was she among the heroes party?]

It was either a damage dealer or a tank according to her weapons, or a healer based on her clothing.

However, the many wholes riddled in her body spoke of the dungeons ruthless traps.

Had he been caught by any of those traps before he might have ended up worse off.

[But, she seems so young]

It was a pity.
