The battle between the dragon and the dinosaur was fierce. The wild cat leaped onto the dinosaur's neck, and the flying eyes hovered directly in front of its face until they drove it to the edge of the mountain. Then, the flying eyes flew away, and the cat leaped toward the dragon's wing. The dragon unleashed its fire at the cat, causing it to fall from the mountain in flames.
Meanwhile, the flying horses had carried Mother Sula and her daughter Vezela to the castle, while the frog and the boy Sialy hid in the dwarfs' cave. The dragon returned, soaring beside the monstrous clock. The wild cat and the flying eyes sat where they were, tracking the footprints of the horses and the frog.
The dragon landed at the top of the mountain, roaring, "I want the key to the castle!"
The wild cat asked the flying eyes, "Where have they disappeared to? It's as if the earth swallowed them up!" She then added, "Go, eyes, and blow up that clock. Perhaps it will hasten their return and bring them back to the land as they once were."
The flying eyes replied, "Whenever I approach it, I am blinded and fall. That might be the end of me."
The wild cat asked, "Should I try the monstrous clock? Perhaps it will help us bring out the monster."
The flying eyes responded, "That's a great idea; perhaps small monsters will emerge and search the earth."
"But perhaps she will take revenge on the dragon," the wild cat mused.
The flying eyes reassured her, "Don't worry—if he gets too close to her, he will burn her."
