Hundred of question welled in Audrey's head at once. From the moment she had seen the book, she knew there was something strange about it. But Agnes had assured her that all old books mentioned the eight god. Maybe, Damien knew about it.
"Why?"
The carriage moved slowly, and the voices of the soldiers outside filtered in, but all Audrey's focus was on the man in front of her.
"To be honest, I don't know much about it too. I've only read about books who talked about. When I asked the king about it, he had shunned me."
His explanation only fuelled Audrey's curiousity. "Why?"
Damien gave her a small smile. "I was that curious to and since there was no one willing to tell me what had happened. I also relied on reading more books."
"And did you find anything out?"
He nodded. "The god of ambition was sent into hiding by the remaining gods when he grow too ambitious. He was against human kind and think they didn't deserve to be treated the way the creator treated them."
