Seventh Uncle was a swordsman; he didn't really understand this sort of thing, so he just said:

Erhu scratched his head and said, "Seventh Uncle, it's that the Princess didn't want us to go in. My brother and I each long ago fused a wisp of our own blood into the Princess's heart-guarding jade pendant, using it as a medium to sense and protect her. But when we brothers just now were preparing to cast a spell, the Princess transmitted her will through the pendant, telling us brothers not to intervene for the time being."
"Nonsense!"
Seventh Uncle was angry, then immediately asked, "Do you know where the nightmare comes from?"
"It might be from rushing on the road all this way and the Princess being a woman, so her body is weak and she was invaded by evil…"
