Igor didn't know what was wrong with him; he always felt something was amiss. He was speaking the truth, but there was always a feeling that he was lying. This might be a subconscious aftereffect of Kadi's big lie from before.
Igor found it curious; this was clearly a big lie told by Kadi. Why did he himself feel uneasy? Why would this aftereffect manifest in him? It was completely illogical.
Actually, he didn't know, there aren't many reasonable things in this world. For example, what's the reason he can awaken those spirits more easily than others? He doesn't have an extra eye or nose, so why can he and others cannot… This world is constituted by a hodgepodge of irrational things, and pursuing rationality too much would just lead him into a dead end.
In this regard, Kadi is much better than Igor. At least he wouldn't set himself up for disappointment.
