If Midgar had been equal in strength to Adam but hadn't been a Lord, their battle would have already ended. Midgar had nothing to set against Adam and his flaming blades.
He had no energy left, and his body was exhausted from numerous wounds, but… his Arc was a different story.
Throughout their battle, after Midgar summoned his Arc, he had used his weapon's abilities only once, when he summoned a gray demon.
This was no accident. If Midgar had wanted to, he could easily have summoned a few more demons using his Arc's energy. But by the time Adam had dealt with the first demon, Midgar had already realized that would be a mistake.
Adam would have found ways to deal with a few more demons, and Midgar would have lost the opportunity to activate his trump card.
In fact, this was the first time Adam had faced an opponent who used a constellation against him.
