"Sure," Ty said, confusion and curiosity playing across his features. He settled back into his seat while Alexander gave him a passing glance before strolling off, his demeanor nonchalant.
The sound of the door clicking shut echoed throughout the room, leaving Ty alone with Ya-Mi. She crossed her legs, her face a mask of concentration.
"Just a few more questions," she began. "What did Lieutenant Daemon mean to you?"
Ty felt a shiver run down his spine at the mention of Lt. Daemon's name. The muscles in his neck tightened, and he found himself holding his breath. He took a moment to compose himself, took a deep breath, then finally spoke.
"He was someone I respected," Ty said, his voice calm but laced with a hint of melancholy.
"I didn't know him for long, but he seemed like one of the least crazy people I've met since coming here." He paused, swallowing as the words fought their way up his throat.
