Route 1, leaving Vaniville Town
The morning sun was warm over Vaniville as the two of them stood at the edge of town, packs settled, partners at their sides.
"Ah, Serena, I see you traded Chespin to Shauna in exchange for Fennekin," Yugito said.
The woman nodded.
"Yeah, I felt more in sync when I was using Fennekin in that double battle we had against you. And Shauna was more comfortable using Chespin. But don't you worry next time we
battle, I'll win."
Yugito grinned
"Well, I am looking forward to it."
Beside him, the Froakie on his shoulder nodded his head.
"Me and Sasuke are always up for a battle, and that's why I'll make sure the Pokémon I use will always want to battle."He threw out his hand, the Froakie on his shoulder mimicking the motion. "After all we're gonna be the strongest in Kalos."
"Fro!"
"At least we're leaving your hometown. Once I beat the first gym, I'm heading straight on to Lumiose City."
Serena giggled.
"You know, since Shauna went on ahead let's travel to the first town together, Mr. Strongest Pokémon Trainer."
"Well, if you insist," Yugito said, mock-bowing toward the road to Santalune City. "Shall we, my lady?"
"My hero," she said, smiling.
Route 1
"Well, if you see a Pidgey, let me know, will you?"
"Huh?" Serena tilted her head. "I thought you'd go for Fletchling."
Yugito waved a hand in a so-so gesture.
"I'd prefer a Pidgey. Mostly because its final evolution has a soft spot in my heart."
A Pokémon flew overhead.
"Pidgey!" it called out.
"Alright, Sasuke Quick Attack!"
A blur rammed into the Pidgey, knocking it clean out of the sky.
"Pidgeyyy!" it cried in pain.
After a brief back-and-forth, Yugito wound up and threw.
"Pokéball, go!"
One click. A faint shimmer of red light. Captured.
"Alright, we did it! Froakie!"
"Fro!"
He heard clapping from behind him.
"You sure do get excited about catching Pokémon,"Serena said, amused. "Out of curiosity what teammates are you planning to acquire?"
"Why, so you can plan ahead?" He waved it off. "If you must know right now the Pokémon I want on my final team are Greninja and Pidgeot." He felt both the Froakie and the newly caught Pidgey's balls bounce against him in excitement. "As well as Gardevoir and a Garchomp. I already have an idea where to find a Ralts and a Gible."
"What about your last two slots?"
The boy shrugged.
"I don't know. I guess whatever Pokémon wants to join me and get stronger. And if someday any Pokémon I catch wants to leave my side either to protect something or find a mate then I'll let them go. After all, every Pokémon, no matter how weak, can become strong. No matter what at least Thats what I think
(Thoughts)
Those are the Pokémon I used the most, along with the gift Lucario and a Venusaur but I
doubt I'd get my hands on those. I'm sure I can think of another two to take their place
