The North District Grand-Wizard repeated the proposal, looking at the fist-sized little cat on the table with a peculiar expression. He held back but eventually couldn't help laughing: "Hmm, sorry, what I mean is, no need, thank you... I appreciate your kindness."
The little face of the Black Gem Cat instantly drooped.
"Think I can't afford it?"
It was displeased, feeling underestimated—wanting to reveal how much personal savings it had accumulated to the Witch over the past few months, but worried that once the information leaked, it'd be turned into stone and stuffed into a dark box forever.
Korma noticed the little cat's conflicted look.
"At the level of a Grand-Wizard, many things are no longer about money."
