The end of the beginning
On a planet named Beastly Howl lived a savage race with the power of their moon. A fierce battle was raging between their leader, Gento, and the enemy invaders, the Slivered Blood race, who wielded the power of blood but were weak to sunlight. The fight was intense, their powers tearing apart the land and ground around them. The Slivered Blood race was winning against the lunar leader, and destruction spread from the surface to the planet's core, which erupted in flames under the force of their blows.
Elsewhere, while chaos engulfed the planet, a couple with a baby ran toward a pod to escape. Along the way, they found a small pod with room for only two. They argued over who would stay behind and who would flee. Unable to decide, the man pushed the woman and baby inside, set the coordinates, smiled at them, and closed the pod.
As the pod soared away, they watched the planet explode, the man fading into nothingness along with the rest of Beastly Howl.
