For certain reasons, they could not fall in love. When the Heavenly Court found out, they were punished and turned into a single flower, never to see each other for eternity.
But they were unique, as one had leaves but no flower, while the other had a flower but no leaves.
After a thousand cycles of reincarnation, one day the Buddha came by their side and saw this enchantingly beautiful flower.
He gazed at them intently, scrutinizing carefully, and discovered the mystery within.
Then he reached out, pulled them out, and planned to plant them back in the Holy Land. However, as he passed through the Underworld, the flower fell, took root, and grew.
Seeing this, the Buddha said, "So be it. Since your fates have not ended, I will not force it. From now on, let your flowers bloom across this place."
Later, this flower grew in the Underworld, but they were still under the curse of the Heavenly Court, never able to meet.
