Beau Reed glanced at Quinn Martinez, retracted his gaze, and turned to follow Mary Douglas.
"Why are you following me?"
Mary looked at him out of the corner of her eye, with little emotional fluctuation.
"It's rare to see you, can't I spend a little more time with you?"
Mary laughed, "I have something very important to do right now, besides, I don't think you would believe I want to spend more time with you."
"That's why I didn't ask your opinion."
Mary stopped, "Two months without seeing you, and you've grown quite shameless."
"Who told you to be so difficult to understand, I have no other way."
Mary took a deep breath, "How should I say this, Beau Reed? We used to be quite close, and it is indeed rare to meet, so spending more time together is needed, but I really have something very important to do now, something that doesn't require outsiders knowing."
Those words, truly, were said quite tactfully.
In the past, outsiders.
