Ruben Finnegan strolled over, patted his shoulder, and said with a laugh, "Haven't you two just reunited now? How dare you blame me."
"Of course I blame you. If you hadn't dragged me here to train, I would have flown to the capital by now to become Sister Isabella's right-hand man," Xavier Gale raised an eyebrow.
"With the little ability you had before, you couldn't even protect yourself. You should be grateful if you don't become a burden to Isabella," Ruben Finnegan shrugged slightly.
It seemed as though the two of them were used to bickering, and they always spoke to each other in this straightforward manner.
As expected, the apprentice was a little inferior. Xavier Gale grinned awkwardly and said, "Alright, Master, now I understand your good intentions. Only by becoming a better version of myself can I protect those I want to protect."
With those words.
The air suddenly grew quiet.
Little did they know, this was a self-fulfilling prophecy.
