George Stanford gasped in shock, his face stunned.
Sophie Sullivan was startled. Could something be wrong with her face?
"Old Mr. Stanford, what's wrong with my face? Don't scare me."
Sophie was frightened by his gasp, her facial color changed suddenly, her small face becoming pale as the color of blood gradually faded from it.
Even her red lips turned a bluish white.
A pair of water-clear eyes, deep with nervousness and anxiety at the bottom.
George Stanford fumbled around the tabletop with one hand, finally grabbing a mirror and handing it to her.
"Quick, Fiona, take a look."
Sophie's fingertips were icy as she held the mirror. She closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and finally gathered the courage to open her eyes and look at her face.
One second.
Two seconds.
Ten seconds.
"Ah..."
Sophie's hand slowly caressed her cheek, excited and incredulous. She looked at herself in the mirror, crying tears of joy, "Old Mr. Stanford, they're gone... all those scars are gone!"
