Aldana Candi rushed downstairs, standing at the staircase entrance and looking at Philip Shaw in the dining room, then slowly hugged her legs and sat on the steps.
Her palms were covered in cold sweat, and when the wind blew, it coldly stuck to her hands. She casually wiped them on her clothes, then buried her face between her knees.
Her heart felt a bit uncomfortable, though she couldn't quite say where the discomfort came from—it was just a little heavy in her chest.
She sat there hugging her legs and dazed for a while, and only after a good while did she stand up, just as Philip Shaw and Angela Summer had finished their breakfast. The man looked up to see her standing on the stairs, raised an eyebrow, and asked, "Why are you hiding here?"
Aldana Candi walked down, took hold of his cool fingers, and said moodily, "Ellen refused to come downstairs for breakfast."
