Aldana stood still, chatted briefly with Angela, and then dragged her heavy steps into the crowd.
Eric walked over and grabbed her, speaking in a low voice: "The doctor is in surgery, don't go over."
Aldana looked up at Eric, gently asking: "…Is it him?"
Eric didn't say anything, just raised his hand to gently pat her hair, and led her to a corner.
Aldana bowed her head, smelling the strong scent of blood in the air. The place surrounded by the crowd was very quiet, only occasionally did the sound of surgical knives and various instruments clashing, producing a nerve-wracking metallic echo in the silent hall.
Aldana felt a bit uncomfortable in her stomach, somewhat nauseous, possibly from the long car ride, or from the smell in the air, or perhaps from prolonged tension—it made her dizzy.
Eric keenly noticed her discomfort, extended his hand to grab her arm, supporting her, "What's wrong with you?"
