Ellen sat to the side and burst into exaggerated laughter, opening the steamer lid of the dumplings and picked one for Jimmy, saying, "The dough was rolled by Aldana and me a few days ago, and the broth was cooked by Aldana using an old hen. Give it a try?"
Jimmy's parents are overseas Chinese, but his grandparents are born and bred locals, so he's been eating these things since childhood and doesn't find it unfamiliar.
He lowered his head and took a bite of the dumpling, finding the taste not as authentic as those in star-rated hotels but still very delicious. What's more, with Aldana's cooking as a bonus, he gave it a full marks evaluation.
"I've never eaten dumplings this tasty."
Aldana glanced speechlessly at the smiling Jimmy; his compliment was too insincere.
Ellen giggled beside him, "It's because Aldana made the dumplings that they're especially delicious. I also think the ones sold outside aren't as good as Aldana's."
