Vivianne slightly turned her head, observing Philip Shaw's face. He wore a gray scarf and a black wool coat, slightly open at the collar, revealing the thin shirt inside, making him look even more lean.
She retracted her gaze, thinking that Philip Shaw probably hasn't been doing well these days.
As both his wife and his friend, she had no way to alleviate his burdens. But in her career, because of marrying Philip Shaw, she had gained a lot. She didn't believe in being ungrateful, so facing all of this, she inevitably felt somewhat defeated.
She recalled talking to Angela Summer and said, "Have you contacted Sister Angela? When do you plan to bring her back?"
Philip Shaw kicked a stone buried in the snow pile, lowered his eyes, and said flatly, "Let's wait until this year is over."
"Sister Angela is a girl. If she comes back, she could spend more time with Miss Candi, don't you think?"
Philip Shaw's footsteps paused briefly, as if something had occurred to him.
