Trenton Smith lifted his head to look at him for a moment, not sure what he discerned, and smiled slightly as he leisurely said, "It seems Lord Shaw has been quite triumphant these days."
Philip Shaw took a sip of his drink, "Not bad."
Compared to the separation of life and death between Trenton Smith and Norris Moore, he could indeed be said to be quite "triumphant."
But naturally, he wasn't about to say these words in front of Trenton Smith.
He had enough emotional intelligence for that, and he was willing to give that bit of face.
Trenton Smith simply looked at him without speaking, just smiling a little, with an air of slight detachment.
It had been two years since they last met, and there wasn't much for them to catch up on now. Philip Shaw sized him up a few times, didn't notice anything unusual about him, and then turned to leave.
"Lord Shaw," Trenton Smith called out to him from behind, "let's have a chat."
