Victoria Gibson was momentarily distracted when she caught Chad Yakov gazing at her with an anguished look.
She immediately hugged her beef plate tight, "This plate is mine, if you want to eat, get your own!"
"..." Chad Yakov said nothing, his gaze still fixed on the bowl in her hand. Then, using his chopsticks, he picked up a green vegetable and slowly brought it to his lips, opening his mouth to eat it.
The way he chewed the vegetable looked as if he were eating her meat.
That gaze was simply impossible to ignore...
"Seeing you so pitiful, I'll be generous and give you a piece of meat." Victoria Gibson graciously picked up a piece of beef, cooked it, and put it in his bowl.
Chad Yakov merely glanced at it, didn't move, and continued eating greens.
"You're not eating meat, so why do you keep staring at the meat in my bowl?" Victoria Gibson asked, puzzled.
"Beef causes inflammation." Chad Yakov slowly parted his lips and squeezed out a sentence through his teeth.
