Chapter 958 - Chapter 958 : Being Kind To Someone And Not Letting Them Know

"You must have put in a lot of effort to contact Mr. Zhang," Ming Yutong said.

"Actually, it wasn't that hard. There was a business lunch this afternoon, and fortunately, the person I was with had a good relationship with me. He mentioned that he and his wife had been trying to conceive for 12 years without success. They had been to numerous hospitals, taken countless medications, and had many injections with no results."

Ming Yuqian explained, "Later, they managed to get an appointment with Mr. Zhang. After seeing him and undergoing treatment with Chinese medicine and acupuncture for more than five years, she is now four months pregnant."

"Your cold constitution might really improve if Old Zhang takes a look," Ming Yuqian said.

Ming Yutong was somewhat moved by what her brother said, but she still tried to keep her hopes in check.

After so many years, she had held on to hope only to be met with disappointment time and again.

Because of the repeated letdowns, she was afraid to hope too easily.

"Mr. Zhang is so old. Wouldn't it be a bit too much to have him come over personally after I'm discharged?" Ming Yutong said, feeling it was a bit excessive for Mr. Zhang to make a personal visit.

Ming Yuqian waved it off, "Mr. Zhang has a kind heart and doesn't mind such things. After I contacted him and informed him of your serious condition, Mr. Zhang took the initiative to come to the hospital to treat you. Since gunshot wounds also have many subsequent effects on the body, he will examine those as well."

Ming Yutong couldn't help but feel a bit more hopeful.

The next day, Mr. Zhang arrived at the hospital directly from the airport, with his suitcase still in the trunk, without even going home to rest.

Upon arriving at the door, he saw Fu Yinxiu waiting outside the ward.

Mr. Zhang was a bit surprised, then smiled and shook his head, exchanging a glance with Fu Yinxiu before entering the ward.

Ming Yuqian was particularly grateful that Mr. Zhang took the time to come personally and had taken a day off from work to accompany Ming Yutong.

"It should be that I come to see you after my body is better," Ming Yutong said, feeling a bit uneasy.

Mr. Zhang waved his hand, "No need to worry about that. The patient is more important. Your injury is severe, and it's better to address it now. If we wait until you're discharged, the effect might not be as good as it could be now."

Ming Yuqian moved a chair to the bedside for Mr. Zhang to sit down.

Mr. Zhang washed his hands, examined Ming Yutong using traditional methods, and asked about her current physical condition and any issues she regularly experienced.

Then, he placed three fingers on her wrist to feel her pulse.

After examining her pulse for a while and pondering, Mr. Zhang said, "There was some improvement from the previous treatments, though not much. But have you caught a cold in between?"

Hearing this, Ming Yuqian had an unpleasant expression.

It was all Fu Yinxiu's fault.

Mr. Zhang then pointed out a few things that the previous doctors had not mentioned.

Ming Yuqian's eyes sparkled with renewed hope, and even Ming Yutong, who had earlier told herself not to have too high hopes, couldn't help but become excited.

From Mr. Zhang's words, it seemed like there was a real chance of improvement.

"First, we'll start with this prescription and see how it goes after a few months," Mr. Zhang said. "Then we can make adjustments to the prescription based on Miss Ming's condition."

"Then… the previous doctors said that it would be very difficult for my sister to conceive in the future. Do you think, Mr. Zhang, that there is a chance for improvement?"

"It is certainly possible. Miss Ming's issue is a cold constitution. As long as it is properly adjusted and detailed care is taken afterward, it won't affect fertility."

Ming Yuqian was overjoyed, even though Ming Yutong already had Little Jingshi as her son.

But since Jingshi's father was Fu Yinxiu, Ming Yuqian didn't want Ming Yutong to get back together with Fu Yinxiu.

Ming Yutong had already suffered too much. She just hoped she could live a peaceful and happy life.

Ideally, she would have a happy little family of her own, with a husband, a son, and a daughter, with no regrets.

Afterward, Ming Yuqian personally escorted Mr. Zhang to the hospital's main entrance.

Mr. Zhang, along with his students, went to the parking lot, where he saw Fu Yinxiu standing by his car from a distance.

Mr. Zhang smiled and walked over.

Despite Mr. Zhang being 70 years old, as an old Chinese medicine doctor, he took good care of himself and remained as vigorous as someone in their sixties.

"You," Mr. Zhang said, shaking his head with a smile, "Why make things so difficult? Being kind to someone and not letting them know?"

Fu Yinxiu didn't hide it from the old man but offered a bitter smile, "If she knew I was the one who arranged for you, she probably wouldn't accept it even if I begged her."

Zhang Lao raised an eyebrow, "Oh, did you upset her?"

Fu Yinxiu looked remorseful, and Mr. Zhang chuckled, "It seems you made quite a big mistake. Well, I'll take care of her illness. You'd better make sure to appease her."

"How is Tong Tong's condition now?" Fu Yinxiu asked.

Zhang Lao's expression turned serious, "I can't casually disclose a patient's condition."

Fu Yinxiu said helplessly, "Mr. Zhang, just tell me. I haven't seen her and am very concerned, and there's no one I can ask. I—"

Mr. Zhang sighed, "Alright, I'll tell you. For gunshot wounds, the hospital will handle the treatment."

"I know her cold constitution is particularly severe," Fu Yinxiu said.

Knowing he was aware, Mr. Zhang continued, "It's indeed very serious. It's at a fundamental level and requires careful adjustment. Her previous treatments with Chinese medicine were somewhat inadequate, so the effects were slow. Over the past seven years, there has been only slight improvement. If she continues with the treatment for another two years, while it might not cure the root issue, it could restore her health to a level where it's not as difficult as it is now."

"But she suffered from severe cold exposure previously. For an ordinary person, it might pass, but her already weak body can't handle even a slight chill. I asked, and after the exposure, she had a fever immediately. The previous prescription no longer worked for her. She didn't realize this and didn't see a doctor to adjust the prescription in time, resulting in her condition deteriorating back to where it was before, undoing the hard-earned progress."
