Lady Parker hesitated for a few seconds before taking the phone.
A moment later, she hung up with a smile on her face.
"Ms. Joanna, thank you so much." Lady Parker turned to Joanna Lawrence, her face full of gratitude. "Frank is willing to come home. It's all thanks to you for persuading him. Otherwise, I wouldn't know what to do."
"Ms. Joanna, you've done me a great favor. How should I thank you?"
"I didn't really do much." Hearing that Frank Parker was willing to return home, Joanna Lawrence saw no reason to stay and continue having coffee with Lady Parker. She spoke directly, "Since Lady Parker's problem has been resolved, I'll take my leave now."
Joanna was telling the truth.
She hadn't really said anything to Frank.
She had simply conveyed Lady Parker's thoughts.
It wasn't exactly persuasion.
So she didn't take credit for any of this.
