Chapter 6 - Chapter 4 (pt3)

With that hard look, who would even want to ask a question? Even that muscle guy, Edgar, looked nothing in front of him. The irony.

Yup. So no one's dared to ask.

I really have to admit that this Logan guy is really something—confident and quite finely built. I can bet this guy doesn't have a girlfriend with that stare, which clearly says, 'Stay away from me.' Who would want to get closer to him?

WAIT. Hold up. What am I suddenly thinking? So what if he had one?

"No questions. Good, now follow me in a cue."

He made us follow him for like five minutes straight. Ending up in front of a big iron container, which pretty much is a warehouse. The question is, what are we going to do in a warehouse?

We're not storing goods.

There were a few, not a few, a lot of boxes lying on the floor. Every single box had a number printed on it. This year there are 98 freshmen, so these boxes must also be ninety-eight.

"These boxes contain your uniforms. Your district numbers are printed on them. Now get changed in five minutes. I'll be waiting outside."

Finding the box for me and a certain someone was not difficult at all, as there was only one 9- and 10-numbered box.

Just as the general left, everyone started opening their respective district-numbered boxes. Then and there, they began changing their clothes.

Wait. Shouldn't they change in a changing room?

How shameless.

Then I realized my mistake. This is a changing room, and there are only boys here.

I feel like this because these boys are taking their clothes off right in front of me. How the hell am I supposed to avoid this scenery?

I know I'm probably red by now. I also know there is absolutely nothing I can do to stop it. Of course, any girl would blush after seeing a scene like this.

I can't believe this is going to be included in my precious memories after leaving my district for the first time.

My eighteen years of pure life are flashing before me, and this is how it's happening.

The simplest solution is either to close my eyes or turn around. At least that way, I might be able to save my eyes' virginity.

Guess someone really cared enough to ask, "Aren't you going to change? He only gave us five minutes."

Thanks for the reminder, but I know this. What can I do? I can't change in front of you all. "Right, thanks for reminding Jackson."

I started opening my box slowly so as not to be asked again or be bothered with such an obvious question on my part. I peeked just to be sure everyone was close to changing.

Everyone got out after changing, except for Jackson.

I need peace, Mr. JACKSON!!

"You can go. I'll be there."

Please leave. I looked up at him for him to see that I wanted him gone. He left, momentarily pausing but then moving as if he understood.

Good.

Now that everyone is gone. I started my dress-up.

I did it as fast as I could and then ran out.

Every single person there was standing in a line facing the general. And only wished he had bad eyes as I quickly and quietly got me in the line, but who knew that this would be waiting for me?

And of course noticed.

"You're late, and I hate people who are not punctual."

Hawk Eyes!

Now, what can I do rather than hang my head low? I never thought I would have to hang my head low in front of a hawk. I hate it.

"I'm sorry, general. This will not happen again."

"Of course, it won't after receiving a punishment." He almost labled at me.

Gulp. Really! just because of being a few seconds late.

"Go stand under that tree and wait for me to come."

He simply pointed toward a tree that was practically a mile away from where I stood.

It's too far.

I used to be a really active person, but a few years ago, when the responsibility of the district landed on my shoulders, I rarely had time for anything else. Exercise, apparently, was one of the first things to be sacrificed.

I handled most of the district's issues from home, which meant spending far too much time sitting around and far too little time moving. Somewhere along the way, I had turned into a lazy cat.

Good thing I hadn't gotten fat.

As for my skills, they only needed a little polishing. I thought I might be able to work on them here, though apparently my first lesson was going to involve running to a tree that looked like it had been placed at the edge of the world.

But for now, there was no point complaining.

Let's go get that punishment.

I took a breath, then ran toward the distant tree, determined to earn it.

"LOGAN"

I took the rest of the boys to the jogging track. I need to get rid of them to go to him.

"Run a lap around the camp."

What's with obnoxious gazes! You're here to train from me. What's the point of giving me those sad faces? No sympathy is given here; at least don't expect it from me.

"What are you looking at? Complete the lap. You all deaf!

A bit of tweaking. Finally some movements. I ordered my soldiers to keep an eye on them.

As for me, I need to make something clear.

Who is he?

Is he even a 'he'?
