The armored woman fought with a silver spear in hand and a transparent crystal-like shield in the shape of a flower.
The crystalline buckler flared with primordial light as soon as the beast struck it with its claws.
"You must be the Emissary Ailia told me about. Seems you're as dutiful as she claimed," the red haired woman said as she kept her eyes on the enemy. "I see you brought something. Trade places with me. I need at least ten minutes and I can clean this place and that Erebus up."
The large wolf laughed as it ran around her, forcing her to block and parry. "Foolish Matriarch. I won't allow you to stop my plans! You will end up like that foolish daughter of yours!"
'Is Hyun-ah dead?' The thought vanished as quickly as it came. On a battlefield this deep in the dirt, dwelling on casualties was an easy way to end up as one.
