While the Kingdom has been preparing for war, the former King had been devising his own private plans. Achillies SR. and some mages were all gathered in a secluded place within the Kingdom.
"Sir achillies, time is of the essence as we prepare for war". One of the Mages said pacing back and forth. "He's right , please make haste in choosing your next vessel my lord". Said another.
The former King, annoyed, tried to reassure the Mages.
"Be not afraid, there's still time and remember, the opportunity will always present itself when the time comes for me to acquire a new vessel. Our allies on the other side are still plentiful as long as I still stand". The former King's reassurance was met with confusion.
"Our allies won't be here long and i'm sure you don't want to be dragged and bound to the other side. That's why we're urging you to make haste by selecting a vessel, the Shadow King's return will be upon us soon. If it weren't for"-
"That's enough" ! Achillies said, cutting off his Mages. He then gives each one of them a wild and distasteful glare. "I fear no man, beast, fowl and most certainly, no man that is not of this world. Though I have aged with time, my soul still burns bright and holds its youth. Soon, I will have my new body and all will go according to plan"...
Later that day...
Candles were lit as the former King was laying in bed, meditating. He and the Mages had returned to his living quarters . As Achillies meditated, his body and mind drifted to a higher plane; A place far beyond "normal ". The candles flickered and the room grew darker and suddenly, he heard a deep, low, octane voice. "Your time is almost up, re-coupment is inevitable. Don't keep me waiting, for I have been keeping my word... don't disappoint me".
Before Achillies could respond, his trance and concentration was broken. "You too shall fall, but for now, i'll uphold my part". He said, while maniacally laughing.
