Robin Reade had been taking days off and acting mysteriously busy all day, every day.
Tina Hernandez had complained about this more than once to Bella Scott, and Bella's answer was that she was too dependent on Robin.
Bella also said that someone as talented as Robin couldn't possibly be an assistant for their whole life, and that it was good for Tina to start adapting to his eventual departure now.
Tina thought Bella's words made sense, but she didn't think Robin was the type of person to brazenly climb the ladder for fame and fortune.
Thus, she didn't take Bella's words to heart.
That day, Robin had only been at work for a short while when he received a phone call and took another leave from her.
This time she couldn't help but ask him, "What's been keeping you so busy lately? Can you tell me?"
"Some personal matters," Robin answered concisely.
