The next day…

Yawn~~
Euphy yawned as she stepped down from the carriage. Around 10:00 AM this morning, right after waking up, she had rushed straight back to the castle without even eating breakfast.
If it hadn't been so late last night, she would have rushed back then.
"Where is Lord Lucas?" Euphy asked a passing maid.
"The city lord is in the study," The maid replied.
"Alright." Holding a wooden box, Euphy headed straight for the study. Inside the box were the new alloy and the three pieces of ore.
Step, step, step...
She jogged all the way to the study door and only entered after receiving permission.
Creak...
"Euphy? Is something the matter?" Lucas asked curiously. This was the first time Euphy had sought him out on her own initiative.
"My Lord, I... I discovered a new alloy," Euphy said nervously. She herself wasn't entirely sure if it was a completely new alloy.
She had heard people in the Research Department say that Lord Lucas possessed a vast amount of knowledge, and that all the knowledge in the Research Department had been given to them by him.
"A new alloy? Bring it here and let me take a look." Lucas was surprised, though he didn't think it was too unbelievable. Perhaps the new alloy was something that already existed back on Earth.
"Yes." Euphy brought the box over.
Click!
The lock on the wooden box sprang open, revealing the few items inside.
Lucas was the first to pick up the new alloy. He noticed it was much lighter—incredibly light. He wondered aloud, "Could you have accidentally created a lead alloy?"
He put down the alloy and picked up the notebook beside it. As he flipped through it, his astonishment grew.
"Euphy, don't push yourself too hard. Your health is important," Lucas sighed. He saw that the front of the notebook was filled with data Euphy had recorded. The dates were all from the past few days, yet the data was incredibly dense.
"My Lord, please look at the back. The data for the new alloy is at the very end," Euphy hurriedly said.
"Alright." Lucas nodded and flipped to the end. As he read, his brows furrowed, and he exclaimed in surprise, "How is this possible? Could it really be a new alloy?"
He set down the notebook, pulled a book about metals from the nearby bookshelf, and began flipping through it carefully.
As the seconds ticked by, Euphy grew increasingly nervous. She was terrified that this alloy already existed; if it did, it meant the materials for it were scarce, which was why the formula for it hadn't been released.
Half an hour later, Lucas put down the book. He looked at Euphy in amazement and sighed emotionally, "This is a new alloy."
"My Lord, is it really a new alloy?" Euphy cried out in excitement.
"Yes," Lucas nodded. Although the book in his hands was just a general introduction to alloys, he hadn't found anything similar, which meant the alloy she had created was indeed brand new.
"My Lord, what about the ores? Will there be a severe shortage?" Euphy asked anxiously.
"Don't worry," Lucas raised a hand to calm her down, then turned to Annie and ordered, "Get me a copy of the ore data."
"Understood." Annie nodded hurriedly and began rummaging through the bookshelf behind her.
A few minutes later, the latest ore data was placed on Lucas's desk.
"Let me take a look," Lucas said, picking up the documents. The more he read, the more the corners of his mouth turned up.
"My Lord, how is it?" Euphy asked nervously.
"Rest assured, we have plenty of these three types of ore," Lucas chuckled lightly. These three ores had been delivered by three different nobles, complete with estimated mining yield data.
"Then... can we purchase these three ores in large quantities and produce the new alloy?" Euphy asked softly.
"Of course we can," Lucas said gently. His vision extended much further than Euphy's.
If this new alloy was lighter than refined steel, yet just as hard and equally tough, it could be applied to many fields—like constructing buildings, building war chariots, and especially forging weapons and armor.
"Then can I use this new alloy to build the Air Fortress?" Euphy's eyes were full of anticipation.
"Mm, run a few more tests. If there are no issues, you can try researching it," Lucas gave a slight nod. He was referring to tests for electrical and thermal conductivity. He had no desire to fly up into the blue sky only to be struck by lightning during a thunderstorm.
"Understood," Euphy nodded quickly. She also knew that the testing wasn't fully complete yet.
"Go get some rest. Over the next few days, you can start the tests. I'll have people buy and bring back the ores," Lucas reassured her.
"Yes." Euphy nodded rapidly and left with a happy smile.
Creak...
"Master, is this new alloy very important?" Annie asked.
"Yes, incredibly important. If there's an abundance of ore for this new alloy, perhaps some of the things only found in our dreams can actually be built." Thinking about this new alloy, Lucas realized that even steel steamships might not be entirely out of the question.
"Things only found in dreams?" Annie tilted her head, not knowing what her Master was talking about.
"Things that fly in the sky, run on the ground, and swim in the water... Perhaps in a few decades, we'll even be able to fly ten thousand meters into the air?" Lucas said in a joking manner.
"..." Annie froze, staring blankly at Lucas.
"What's wrong?" Lucas looked at the adorably dumbfounded fox-eared girl and asked in amusement, "Did you actually believe that?"
"Mm!" Annie nodded firmly and said, "I believe whatever the Master says."
"Hahaha... It's probably a maybe in my lifetime series of events," Lucas sighed.
"It will definitely be possible." Annie had blind faith in Lucas.
"We'll need a new fuel source," Lucas said softly. Using steam engines for power was merely the beginning of the industrial revolution.
Unless this world had some other type of fuel—something that could push the steam engine to its absolute limits—otherwise, this would be as far as they could go.
