It was a giant humanoid-type monster known as the guardian of the upper floor region. A version of the "Black Goliath" that was stronger than the regular Goliath that appeared due to sensing the presence of a God within the Dungeon.
Just like in the original work, this monster appeared on the 18th floor which was supposed to be a safe area where no monsters were born. However, that doesn't prevent monsters from other floors from entering the floor.
