Chapter 8 - Escaped Pokemon Incident 1.

(Third Person POV)

After a few seconds of shenanigans, the group is now kneeling in front of Oak as he has an exasperated expression.

"Ok…let me start again." Prof Oak pressed his fingers in the bridge of his nose.

"Right." Red.

"You came here to bring a Pokemon to look for Kaori." Oak.

"Which I didn't even managed to do because they stopped me." Ash.

"Then, a Jigglypuff sneaks in and steals Squirtle's Pokeball." Oak.

"Which could've been avoided had you upped the security here." Blue defended.

"Then, you fail to catch said Pokemon as you free and startle the rest of them, destroying my storage room and allowing them escape." Oak.

"More than destroyed I'd say roughed up." Gary.

"Yeah…the other balls weren't damaged at all." Red.

"Regardless, have my recapitulation of these events been accurate so far?" Oak.

"Kinda? A bit off by a few actions, like who's at fault, but yeah." Blue.

"Ok, ok, good. Glad we got that covered…ah! I forgot to ask you guys for something." Oak.

"Oh, ask away professor." Red obliviously fell for it.

"Why haven't you gone for them?" Oak.

"Well, because you-" Red.

"It was a rhetorical question! Go out there and bring the Pokemon back here or you'll be waiting at least another five years before you can go on a journey!" Oak.

The group got up in panic and went for the door before realizing a crucial problem, except for Red who ran outside looking for the mons.

"Professor, Gary, Blue and I don't have any Pokemon." Ash commented.

"Also, which Pokeballs are which?" Blue.

"Right, catch these three!" Oak gave them three Pokeballs.

"I recently caught those two Pokemon for investigation purposes, but I guess they'll have to aid you for this. The third one's been in my lab for some time now so he should make this an easy task for you." Oak commented.

Blue caught the Pokeball containing Scyther, a strong Bug/Flying-Type that can slash through most things with his razor-sharp blades.

Gary caught the Pokeball containing Eevee, a Normal-Type that has the ability to evolve in multiple forms depending on certain circumstances.

Ash caught the Pokeball containing Magikarp, a useless fish Pokemon that only knows how to splash.

"Hey! Why do I get Magikarp?!" Ash.

"Did I stutter?! Just go! Take any empty Pokeballs you find in the storage, it doesn't matter, they're tagged." Oak ordered.

Under normal circumstances Pokeballs are only meant to be used on a single Pokemon since that eases the protection functionality they have against other balls, however, Oak has tinkered with the Pokeballs in his lab, with the authorization of the League, to interconnect every single one of them to another.

Which means that Spearow's Pokeball can also be used in Charmander and vice-versa. Of course, this is also helped by the tags they're wearing but more to that later explained.

The trio left with their temporal partners and balls as they went to look out for the runaway mons.

"How are we even gonna find them?! The'd look like any other wild Pokemon now!" Ash commented.

"Didn't you hear what gramps say? They're tagged, look for the tagged mons." Blue commented.

"Just be fast, we don't want to miss any that might've escaped the outskirts of Pallet Town!" Gary.

The three of them nodded before running around Pallet Town.

(With Red)

"Bubble Beam!" Red.

Poliwhirl shoots up a barrage of bubbles that strike both Metapod and Kakuna.

"Yeah! Now to catch...them..." Red realizes that he has no more Pokeballs.

"Dang it! I left my spares back at home!" Red.

*SHING* *SHING*

Red look at the cocoon Pokemon as their bodies start to glow, their husks break open and release new creatures.

A bee-like Pokemon with bug legs red eyes wings antennae and needles for arms, Beedrill.

A butterfly-like Pokemon with purple skin red eyes and wings with small blue paws and toes, Butterfree.

"Breeee…" Butterfree menacingly hummed.

"Beeeeeee…" Beedrill aggressively buzzed.

Red and Poli looked at them with wide eyes before Red spoke.

"H-hey…listen…about that whole "bombing you with water" thingy…why don't we let bygones be bygones~?" Red.

Beedrill's stings glowed murky green while Butterfree's eyes glowed pink.

"I'll take that as a no…" Red.

"Beeeeeedrill!" Beedrill attacked with Twineedle.

"Buterrrrrfreeee!" Butterfree shot a Psybeam.

"DODGE!" Red commanded as he jumped out of Beedrill's way.

Poli also evaded Butterfree's Psybeam.

"Bubble Beam, again!" Red.

"Poli!" Poli shot the Bubble Beam at the attackers.

Beedrill moved away using Agility while Butterfree just countered with his own Psybeam. Beedrill's stings glowed again but this time white as he lunged at Poli.

"That's Fury Attack, counter with Double Slap!" Red.

"Poli!" Poli's hands glowed white as well as he lunged at Beedrill.

The two clashed in a battle of raw power, Beedrill ferociously stabbed while Poli deflected each move over and over with his powerful slaps.

As they were doing that, Butterfree started fluttering his wings, the powerful winds that came from said flutter started to gain power like a small tornado.

"Poli, throw Beedrill into the Gust." Red.

Poli didn't even flinched as he grabbed both of Beedrill's stings and threw him into the Gust. The Flying-Type energy was strong enough to cause damage to Beedrill, injuring him.

"Oh yeah! Go with a Pound!" Red.

Poli's fist was enveloped in a white glow as he jumped and strike down Butterfree.

*BAM*

Butterfree fell HARD against the ground. Beedrill got up zoomed in against Poli with his right sting.

*STACK*

Poli got hit by Poison Sting.

"Po—li…" Poli started to feel weaker as he got poisoned.

"Hang in there Poli!" Red.

Beedrill was preparing to go for a second attack when...

"Cut."

Scyther appeared at high speeds and slashed Beedrill with his cleave sharp arms, fainting Beedrill.

"Wha-?" Red.

"Slow as always, eh Red?" Blue commented.

Red looked back and saw Blue juggling two Pokeballs before throwing them at Butterfree and Beedrill.

*SHIIING* *WOOMP* Beedrill and Butterfree were caught.

"Nice save Blue." Red thanked him.

"You know, if you'd taken the time to strategize instead of jumping into the fray like that, you might've avoided these problems." Blue.

"Whatever, who's your new friend?" Red.

Scyther flew down, uninterested of Red and Poli.

"Just some bug my gramps caught recently, not bad if I do say so myself." Blue.

Scyther took offense at the comment and threw sand at Blue's face.

"HAHAHAHA!!!" Red laughs at Blue's misfortune.

"Pt…pt…smartass…" Blue comments as he spits off the sand.

"Man, I really like this Scyther." Red patted Scyther's back.

Scythed didn't take that too kindly and threw some sand at Red's eyes.

"AAAARHHHH!!! My eyes!!!!" Red wailed in pain as he ran around blind.

"Hehe~ guess you're not so bad after all." Blue complimented Scyther.

The bug Pokémon didn't say anything but did give a smug smirk to the whining trainer.

Seeing his friend/trainer in trouble, Poli readied himself to aid him.

"Po...…li!" Poli used Water Gun on Red's eyes.

The sand was swiftly cleaned off his eyes as Red started feeling the irritation mitigate.

"Thanks a bunch Poli." Red thanked the bipedal amphibian.

"Poli~" Poli nodded.

"We've wasted enough time, take these." Blue threw the Pokeballs at Red.

"Woah, thanks, which one's which?" Red.

"Any will do, just go back to finding the mons lest we anger gramps more than he already is." Blue commented as he left with Scyther.

"How are you, Poli? Ready for another battle?" Red asked his partner.

"Poli…!" Poli took a deep breath and nodded.

"Alright! Let's go!" Red ran opposite of Blue.

(With Gary)

Gary is currently chasing Rattata with Eevee by his side in a field near Pallet.

"Alright Eevee, Quick Attack!" Gary.

Eevee moved in a flash as he tackled Rattata to the ground.

"Now, go!" Gary threw a Pokeball at the downed Pokemon.

Rattata's tail glowed grey before he smacked the ball back.

"Iron Tail? Please don't tell me these Pokemon were trained by Kaori." Gary complained.

"Ratta, tata!" Rattata charged at Eevee with a Tackle.

"Not good, evade." Gary.

Eevee's eyes sharpened as he traced Rattata's movements perfectly, before Rattata could land his attack, Eevee swiftly evaded the move and countered with a Double Kick.

"Woah…you're really good Eevee." Gary complimented.

"Vee~" Eevee looked smugly.

But believe it or not, Rattata wasn't done yet, he still had strength to spare.

"That's one tough Rattata." Gary commented, confused at its strength.

"Ratta…ta!" Rattata enveloped himself in fire before rolling towards Eevee.

"Oh, you've got to be kidding me! Eevee, counter it again!" Gary ordered.

Eevee, however, didn't listen to the order, defensive moves like Protect and Detect have a higher chance to fail when used consecutively, and Eevee's aware of that.

"Ee-----VEE!" Eevee's fur glowed white for a moment before he was enveloped in flames and rolled.

*CRUSH*

The two Pokemon clashed against each other in a test of raw power.

*BUM*

Eevee and Rattata were pushed back, the latter upwards.

"Now I got you!" Gary threw a Pokeball at the mouse.

Since he was mid-air, it was difficult for him to evade the attack, so he got struck by the Pokeball.

*SHIIING* *UUP*

"Perfect, that's one down for Pallet Town's next Champion." Gary cockily commented as he picked up the ball.

"Vee…Vee!" Eevee cheered as he jumped around.

"Yeah, yeah, we're awesome, but that was kinda expected don't you think? Come on, let's get the rest out here." Gary instructed as he and Eevee left.

(With Ash)

The day was supposed to be so simple...get a Pokemon, travel to Viridian City and explore a little with Kaori, come back, and return the borrowed Pokemon safely.

Easy peasy, lemon squeasy.

YEAH RIGHT!!

First, he was stopped by Blue, Second, that dastardly Jigglypuff appeared out of nowhere and stole a Pokeball before releasing all the other mons, and now, he's chasing a Pidgey and Spearow, which wouldn't be that bad if it weren't for the fact that HIS ONLY POKEMON IS A MAGIKARP.

Now, Ash's never been one to complain when it comes to Pokemon, but even he knows that Magikarp is virtually useless out of water.

"Oh man…if they fly away any further I'll never find them again. Magikarp, do something." Ash released Magikarp.

*SHING* *BOP*

Magikarp didn't even acknowledge the order and just laid in the ground without a care as he enjoyed the sunlight.

"Oh, come on! Water Gun, Bubbles, anything that's ranged!" Ash complained.

"Karp…" Magikarp ignored him again, enjoying the breeze.

The two bird Pokemon that were flying away from Ash suddenly stopped their flight and looked back. The shiny red scales…the thick muscles around its body…the yellow stache that looks like worms…

Magikarp looked incredibly delicious to the two birds!

"Row!"

"Cheep!"

The two birds flew downwards at high speeds to attack the fish Pokemon.

"Huh? They're coming back? Ah! They're coming back, it's our chance now, use Tackle!" Ash.

Magikarp once again ignored the orders until he saw the two birds flying towards him.

*BLAM* *POW*

Pidgey attacked with a Tackle and Spearow with a Peck, both attacks injured Magikarp as he bounced back a few steps as anger spiked on him.

"Karp!" Magikarp angrily snarked at the birds.

Pidgey and Spearow looked at each other before starting to laugh, even though birds aren't actually capable of laughter, their cheerful and mocking chirps are enough for Magikarp to understand something...they were making fun of him.

"Magikarp!" Magikarp cursed at them.

He gathered draconic energy in his mouth in the shape of a sphere before he shot it towards them. It was Dragon Rage.

The two birds were too focused on their ridicule that the attack caught them by surprise, the usual damage output of the attack was reduced by half as it landed on both mons.

Ash looked baffled since when can a Magikarp do that?! Nevertheless he focused back on the battle.

"Alright Magikarp! Use Tackle!" Ash.

Magikarp now listened to Ash's commands and bounced towards the fallen Pidgey, Pidgey got hit head-on by the fish.

Spearow finally acknowledge the threat and dove right after the fish.

"Careful Magikarp!" Ash warned him.

But Magikarp was already prepared for it, his tail glowed orange as he bounced over Spearow's attack before delivering a powerful Reversal to his head.

This Magikarp isn't your usual Pokemon, it was trained by Kaori EXCLUSIVELY as an experiment. He wondered if exclusive moves could be learnt the same way as tutoring moves. Magikarp is the end result, a Pokemon learning moves that he shouldn't under normal circumstances, he also discovered that egg moves are indeed unteachable unless breeding.

With the two birds down, Magikarp charged his ultimate attack, water energy surged inside his mouth as it began to form in the shape of a vortex, the amount gradually increased until he reached its limit and released it.

Hydro Pump!

*SHOOOOOOOSSHHH*

Magikarp unleashed a powerful water shot that took both bird Pokemon down for the count in one attack.

"Alright Magikarp! Pokeball GO!" Ash threw the balls at the defeated birds.

*WOOP* *BOOP*

Both birds were caught.

"Yeah! You're the best Magikarp." Ash complimented.

"Karp---" Magikarp however wasn't in the least interested.

*SHING*

Magikarp tapped his Pokeball and returned, not wanting to spend more time with Ash than needed.

...…

'Have I just been abandoned by a Magikarp?' Ash thought in sadness as he started drawing circles in the sand.

(With Blue)

Blue was face to face against his worst type matchup, he found Charmander in a rocky field in the southern side of Pallet.

Worst part? This Charmander has the Egg Move Ancient Power. How does he know? Well, because it's currently spamming the move over and over again.

"Evade again with Agility!" Blue.

"Scy!" Scyther ran around Charmander, evading the incoming stones.

*BOOM* *BOOM* *BOOM* *BOOM* *BOOM*

Raining upon him like E-day bombs, Scyther evaded the barrage while his speed rose exponentially.

Fortunately for Blue, not even a Starter Pokemon can spam such move over and over without rest, eventually, Charmander grew tired and stopped his attack.

"Perfect, Slash!" Blue.

Scyther's bladed arms glowed white as he rushed towards Charmander.

"Char!" Charmander refused to give up.

His claws glowed grey as he used them to block Scyther's attack.

*CLANG*

Normal met Metal and Charmander was pushed back as he managed to mitigate some of the damage.

Blue looked at the small lizard Pokemon unyielding attitude and smirked.

"You have guts…I like that…with some discipline you'll become stronger than you'll ever be right now." Blue commented mostly to himself as the battle continued.

(With Kaori)

"Package~ Package~ I'm here to pick a Package~ I don't know what's inside it~ But it doesn't really matter~" Yeah…Kaori is singing a silly song.

He's been waiting for over an hour for the delivery guy to arrive, as to why he didn't directly went to Pallet Town, there's a distance limit by the company and Viridian was the closest they could bring it.

Why not send any of his other aides? Because Kaori's closer.

At least he's not alone.

"Chimchar~ Chimchar~ Chim-Chimi~ Chimchar~" Chimchar's also singing alongside him.

Yeah, these two share braincells.

'What a beautiful day, I wonder if I should buy everyone a souvenir.' Kaori wondered.

The trainer and his mon continued singing, oblivious to the chaos happening around Pallet Town.
