Hearing what Anne Sutton said, Anna Linden replied, "Oh, so that's how it is. My apologies, I forgot."
After speaking, she turned to Nathan Fawcett and asked, "In that case, why did you keep eating?"
Stella Shields sat to one side, a mere observer, and even she found the scene painful to watch.
In truth, Dr. Linden was usually quite kind to her, but when it came to Nathan Fawcett, she was just so harsh.
Anna Linden sighed and said to Nathan Fawcett, "Forget it. I'm done eating, so let's call it a day. I didn't realize you couldn't handle spicy food. That was my mistake."
After speaking, she said to the waiter, "Check, please."
After paying with her card, she stood up, glanced once at Nathan Fawcett, and walked straight out.
Stella Shields saw this and looked worriedly at Nathan Fawcett. "Nathan, are you all right?"
Nathan Fawcett shook his head.
All Stella Shields could do was follow Anna Linden out.
