Forks...

They crossed into Forks like shadows returning home.

No celebration. No relief. Only tension.

"...."

Edward carried Bella carefully, every step controlled, precise.

But something had changed.

She felt… heavier. Not physically.

Something deeper.

Carlisle noticed it too. His expression tightened.

"We don't have much time," he murmured.

They entered the their mansion.

And the moment they did—They were informed by Rosalie.

About the mercenaries.

Captured. Broken. Interrogated.

And the name—Victor Hale.

Who hired them to kill both Edward and Bella.

She delivered it calmly.

But the impact—Was anything but.

"He believes," She said slowly,

"…that Edward and Bella are responsible for his son's death."

Silence.

"...."

"...."

"...."

Bella blinked. Once. Caught off guard by the sudden revelation.

"…What?" she whispered.

Edward didn't react immediately.

"...."

Didn't deny. Didn't speak.

Because he was searching.

Memory. Every hunt.

Every encounter. But they have never killed someone.

"…No," he said finally.

Firm.Certain.

"We didn't."

Bella shook her head slightly.

"We would know… right?"

Edward looked at her.

And that hesitation—That fraction of doubt—Didn't come from guilt.

It came from the situation itself.

Because things were no longer simple.

Jasper stepped forward slightly.

"Then someone made sure he believes it. Might be..."

Carlisle nodded with a frown thinking who might it be.

-Frown.

"That would explain the scale. Hunters, traps… this wasn't impulsive."

Emmett frowned feeling irritated by his earlier wound by that werewolf.

"Yeah, but why go this far for a lie?"

No one answered immediately.

"...."

"...."

"...."

Because the question felt incomplete.

Not why.

'Who benefits? By targeting Bella and Edward.'

Edward's expression darkened.

"This isn't just about revenge," he said.

Bella's hand tightened against him.

"…Then what is it?"

A pause.

Then—Jasper spoke again.

"A setup. To put blame on you."

The word settled heavily into the room.

Outside—Thunder rolled. Closer.

Carlisle exhaled slowly.

"If that's true… then the person behind this isn't just targeting you."

"…They're moving pieces without even being involved,"

Edward finished with a frustration.

And for the first time—There was something else in his voice.

Not anger. Not fear.

Recognition.

Because this felt deliberate. Planned. Layered.

Bella winced slightly.

"...."

Edward's attention snapped back instantly.

"Bella?"

She shook her head quickly.

"I'm okay… just…"

She hesitated for a moment.

It started suddenly again.

No warning. No gradual build.

Bella gasped—Her body tensed violently.

"Edward—!"

Pain tore through her, sharp and immediate.

Not human. Not normal.

Carlisle was at her side instantly.

"Delivery has started," he said, already moving.

Already preparing.

After few mintues...

Bella was escorted back to the room where the delivery will take place.

Outside—

Edward froze he was tensed thinking what would happen next..

For a fraction of a second—The world stopped.

Rosaile has already called Jojo and informed him about it.

When Jojo and Alice arrived after few minutes.

Edward seeing him instinctively called him out.

"JOJO,"

The house shifted into emergency mode.

Not physically. But in weight.

Because what is happening is the most important day in the life of all cullens.

The proof that a cold one is about to have a baby. A mixed race.

Inside the bedroom—

Carlisle worked with absolute focus.

Every movement precise.

Controlled.

Bella's breathing broke into uneven gasps.

Her grip crushed the sheets beneath her.

"It's too soon…" she whispered in low voice.

Carlisle didn't look up.

"...."

"It's happening now."

No room for debate.

"...."

"...."

"...."

Rosalie stood beside Bella. Calm. Steady.

Her usual sharpness replaced with something far more grounded.

Protective.

"You're okay," Rosalie said quietly.

"Just focus."

Alice stood near the wall, eyes flickering—not seeing the present.

Trying to catch what came next.

If she predicts any abnormal situation she will inform them.

Three hours...

Three hours of pain that didn't belong to the human world.

Bella's breathing had become shallow.

Her strength—Fading.

Carlisle worked without pause, hands steady even as the situation slipped further from normal.

"Stay with me, Bella," he said firmly.

But her body wasn't listening anymore.

It was giving. Piece by piece.

Because something inside her—Was taking.

Not violently. Not cruelly.

Just… inevitably.

Rosalie held her in place, her usual sharpness replaced with fierce focus.

"Don't you dare quit now,"

She muttered under her breath.

Alice stood frozen. Watching.

Not the present—But what wasn't forming in her visions.

Jojo stood in silence.

"...."

"...."

"...."

Eyes locked.

Not on Bella. On the child.

And then—It ended.

A final, broken breath—A last push—And the room fell still.

Carlisle caught the infant. Silence.

No cry. No wail. Nothing.

For one terrifying second—The world stopped.

Then—The child opened its eyes.

Not unfocused. Not searching.

Aware. Deep. Intelligent. Watching.

"...."

Looking around curious.

Rosalie's grip tightened slightly.

"…That's not normal," she whispered.

Carlisle didn't respond.

"...."

Because he already knew.

This child—Was not human. Not entirely.

He wrapped the infant quickly and turned—

"Edward."

Edward was already there.

Carlisle placed the child in his arms.

For a moment—Edward froze.

"...."

Because the baby wasn't crying.

It was looking at him.

Studying him. Recognizing.

Something ancient flickered in its gaze.

And then—Edward felt it.

Not through sight. Not through sound.

Through thought.

A whisper. Not words. But awareness.

His breath caught.

Behind him—Bella's body went still. Too still.

"...."

Carlisle turned instantly.

Her complexion—Pale. Fading. Her pulse—Weak. Fading. She was about to die if the situation continues.

"Edward."

The word was sharp. Filled with Urgency.

Edward turned to look at his father.

Still filled with happiness that he has daughter now.

Carlisle's eyes met his serious.

"...."

And in that moment—Everything narrowed to a single point.

"She's crashing,"

Carlisle said calmly looking at Edward whose eyes widen in realization.

No softness. No delay.

He needs to act as soon as possible.

"You have to decide."

The room held its breath.

"...."

"...."

"...."

"Now. Or Never."

Edward looked at Bella in shock who had turned paler indicating her condition. Broken. Fading.

Slipping away in a slow motion.

Then He looked—At the child in his arms.

Then—Back to Bella.

Time didn't slow for him. It collapsed. Everything seems to be moving very fast around Bella.

Now he needs to make the decision now which he hated to do.

Which he avoided doing when ever Bella brought that topic.

He don't want to convert her and turn her into a monster like him.

But now he needs to make the decision that. Convert her. Or lose her. Forever.

Edward didn't hesitate anymore. He couldn't.

He placed the infant gently into Rosalie's arms.

Rosalie took the child instantly, her grip firm, protective—eyes already flicking back toward Bella.

"Do it," she snapped back at him.

Edward moved. He stepped beside Bella.

Sat close.

For a fraction of a second—He reached out.

His fingers brushing her hair.

A soft, almost human gesture.

"Stay with me…" he whispered.

Rosalie rolled her eyes hard enough it could've been heard.

"Romance later, genius."

-Thud.

Her foot connected with his back—not hard enough to hurt—But more than enough to wake him up.

"MOVE."

That did it. The hesitation shattered.

Edward's expression changed.

Not fear. Not doubt. Resolve.

He leaned down—And bit her hand.

His teeth pierced Bella's skin.

Venom surged. Fast. Violent. Relentless.

Entered her veins.

Bella's body reacted instantly.

Her back arched—A silent scream tearing through her system even if her voice couldn't carry it.

Carlisle stepped back slightly, watching closely.

"Careful," he warned. "Too much—"

Edward pulled back—Then bit again. Hand. Wrist. Shoulder. Precise.

Controlled. Flooding her system.

The venom spread like wildfire through her veins.

Her skin tightened as if all blood in her body was evaporating.

Her pulse—Faltered.

Then—Changed. To very slow and indicating it might stop at any moment.

Something unnatural began to take over.

Her heart beat—Once. Twice. Slower. Stronger.

Then—Pain. Pure. Burning.

Her body trembled violently, the transformation igniting every nerve, every cell, rewriting her from the inside out.

Rosalie held the child close, watching with narrowed eyes.

"…She better survive this."

The baby—Still silent—Still watching—Its gaze shifted.

From Edward. To Bella.

As if…

It understood.

Across the room—Alice took a sharp breath.

"I can see it now…"

Jojo didn't move.

But his eyes—Were fixed on Bella.

On the venom.

On the way her body accepted it.

Not resisting. Not breaking.

Adapting.

That—Was new.

Edward pulled back finally.

Bella's body went still.

Too still.

Her heart—Barely beating.

Was about to stop at any moment. Not yet.

Carlisle stepped forward again, listening closely.

"…It's working," he said.

Quiet. Measured as he examined. But real.

The transformation had begun.

Irreversible.

Bella Swan—Was no longer dying.

She was becoming something else.
