Ethan wasn't about to accept that.
He rose into the air and threw out a white formation array in rapid succession. The array unfurled in front of him, lightning patterns inside it lighting up in a blur. The next instant, streak after streak of white lightning fired from the formation and hammered down into the ruins.
Booms stacked on booms.
The ground around the ruins—already flattened by earlier impacts—got carpet-bombed again. Huge swaths of earth split open. Rocks rolled and tumbled. Dust climbed in layers. The once-smooth clearing was quickly turned into a cratered, wrecked mess.
But the core building still didn't fall.
That was when Queen Seraphine stepped through the air, slow and composed, until she reached Ethan's side.
"My lord, let me lend you my strength!"
