The temple, is the Water God Temple.
And this Water God is not some Evil God from decades past, but one with a Divine Name, engraved in Daoist on the stele are the four characters: Water God Feng Bo.
Like the clay statue, despite the changing times, it remains pristine, and when sunlight streams into the temple, the light falls on the stele, making the characters shimmer with golden light, reflecting onto the clay statue, as if a deity had manifested.
After the God Slaying Battle, the Water God Temple was long gone, but after the regime changed to the Western Dynasty, a Water God Temple quietly reappeared near Green Lake, complete with a god statue and a divine stele, and with offerings, naturally, the god existed once more.
