Through the use of the Library of Heaven's Path. The martial arts I made with it in the Five Elemental Changes was 'mastered' for me and with a slight twist of the spear a flourish of flames shot out from the spear.
And I saw Dorea's face tighten along with Hagrid pausing at the sight of the elemental manifestation.
Because, we were wizards, basically gifted children of heaven who literally started their 'cultivation' path at the Golden Core/Core Formation stage. Skipping years upon years of training normal people had to do to reach our power level.
But... Normally we wizards had little to no fucking idea how to use said magical energy at our ages, but with my Library of Heaven's Path, with the martial arts compliation being ingrained in my mind.
I didn't have that issue, I already knew all about my martial art as I myself made it.
"How... You are a Newblood, how do you know how to activate your magic in a martial art!?" Dorea snapped as her grip on her rapier shook.
And just to be a little shitter, I just tilted my to the side. And responded with 'utter' confusion. "I found a book on martial arts before I came to class... And I am just following what was said in the book."
Dorea's face darkened at my complete bullshit as no matter how talented I could be. I shoudn't be able to just throw fucking fireballs after reading a book.
But Hagrid coughed and then with clear amusement he said. "Actually, Dorea... If you don't want to be bullied, I understand. You can step out without any shame."
Dorea Malfoy's expression darkened at the offer as she seemingly took it as an offer made out of pity. She shook her head and she looked at me with determination. "I am the proud daughter of the Malfoy family! Regardless of his tricks I am not his lesser in any situation!"
My lips twitched at her fierce determination and Hagrid just shrugged and said calmly. "Well go ahead then you two. Jake, Dorea, no doing soul deep damage then."
I stepped forward with my swordspear at the ready and we both realized to say nothing of my being able to send out elemental attacks. I had a far large reach advantage with the length of the swordspear.
Dorea, trying to get past that advantage, skipped to the side to avoid a probing stab to get into the radius of the swordspear.
But the thing was, the swordspear had a grip area right next to the sword part of the swordspear at the end of the shaft. So even if having the longer shaft of the spear behind myself making it a bit more unwieldy.
It also allowed me to brace the shaft of the spear on my side and arms, allowing me to quickly adjust the movements of the sword/spear point of the swordspear.
And as she tried to engage me at close range with her sharp rapier, shooting for my throat to end the fight in an instant...
I carved the swordspear in an arc to block her rapier and the resulting carving motion invoked the water element which slammed the equilvalent of several hundred pounds of water hitting her at high speed and smashed her backwards.
Dorea slammed into the ground a couple of meters backwards and rolled with her gasping and choking as the magical water clearly entered her nostrils and mouth and inevitably surprised her.
Before she could properly recover in anyway, I stepped forward and stabbed forward with the Swordspear with a rushing wind ringing out but I held back the piercing attribute of the wind and instead used it as a hammer.
Dorea couldn't even scream as the hammer of invisible wind slammed into her chest and she slid across the arena and then hit the barrier with a loud thudding noise.
"Alright! Yea that's enough of that." Hagrid called out as he strode into the barrier with his inner energy flashing in warning to me that the fight was over.
I exhaled and held the swordspear with one hand, and the bottom of the spear placed on the ground with Hagrid pulling Dorea out of the barrier.
The moment she was pulled out of the barrier, I couldn't help blinking as I saw her ruffled tight-fitting clothes fix themselves, and the bit of blood that was leaking of her nose disappeared.
"Haha! You showed the Slytherin princess what's what!" I heard one of the Gryffindor's cheering for me but... I could also see the other Slytherins looking at me not with hate, disgust, or... Really, any negative emotions.
Then a female voice spoke up coldly. "Cheer as loudly as you like, but there is no reason to celebrate someone who is at the Manifestation Stage of their martial arts beating a novice."
I looked over, and the woman who spoke was a blonde-haired Slytherin with golden eyes. And as I came out of the barrier as well. Devin, one of my fellow Gryffindor's quickly muttered for me to hear. "That's Daphne Greengrass, a rival of Dorea supposedly."
I slowly nodded as people realized the truth of Daphne's words, no longer cheered, and looked kinda awkward as there really wasn't any pride to be had in my easy win.
Typically, Martial Art's mastery went along rather simply depending on the martial arts themselves in these stages. Novice, Adept, Mastery, Perfection, and Transcendance.
Basically, Transcendance was where you took your martial art and made it much better at least for you. But in my case, I was using a clearly very high-grade martial art that incorporated elemental magic within itself.
And have already reached a level in the martial arts in which I could manifest the martial arts special attacks using my magic.
My inner thoughts were cleared as Hagrid's voice rose up as Dorea got herself back up on her feet. "See, even though Miss Malfoy here got a bit of a harsh wakeup call. She is completely unharmed. So, Lavender Brown and Daphne Greengrass. It's your turn to get in there seeing as you both are so chatty."
I watched as Daphne and Lavender then got in the ring and with Hagrid starting the fight, I was slightly surprised when Hagrid came over and asked rather bluntly. "Are you really a newblood? Bah, what's it matter. Anyway, you should seek to spar with some second years or something."
I nodded, and before Hagrid could continue, he had to refocus on the arena as Daphne who was using a saber cut through Lavender's stomach, and Lavender was crying as she was bleeding heavily through her stomach.
And although I expected Hagrid to give Lavender shit for losing herself at having such a huge cut across her stomach. But he just escorted her out of the arena allowing the powerful magic to fix her and then Hagrid just...
Left her outside of the arena before starting another bout as there were still a lot more people to have fight.
Though Lavender was now stroking her stomach under her shirt, then after I spoke with Devin for a few minutes. I raised an eyebrow as Daphne left her clique of Slytherins and came over to me after Devin went to go talk with a couple of other guys.
"Jake Bariss, I presume?" Daphne spoke as she folded her arms over her chest.
I raised an eyebrow at the obviously rhetorical question as Hagrid had clearly announced my name before me and Dorea fought. Not only that, but it was clear that she would have done a bit of research on me before approaching.
Still, I just nodded, but knowing that although Slytherin and Gryffindor's rivalry wasn't as 'overt' in this universe. That didn't mean we didn't actually have a rivalry at all.
"And you are Daphne Greengrass. May I help you then?" I asked,d although calmly, but there was still the clear undertone of 'Why are you here?'
Daphne gave an empty smile, one that meant nothing, but she still asked curiously. "So, being a Newblood, I am curious as to how you did those elemental attacks."
I just gave her an even look and didn't respond. As I was no fool, it was none of her damned business and her asking me such questions in this world that had a good bit of cultivation aspects. It was a blatant invasion of my privacy.
There was an awkward silence as I clearly was not entertaining her question. Then Daphne coughed before she spoke again. "I am sorry, that was too direct, I suppose. And how are you finding Hogwarts and the magical world?"
I shrugged and said rather casually. "I am an orphan, so I was kept safe at an orphanage, seeing as I have a magical core. Although I was safe, I didn't have a lot of connection with either wizards or mundane people, honestly."
At least that was my excuse for my reincarnation/drop into this world anyway. And would also be an explanation on why I was somewhat ignorant of the monster issue that plagued this world.
"So I am finding it fine... Though our classes will be keeping us very busy obviously." I said, evenly moving away from the topic of my livelihood, before I looked at Daphne and said somewhat evenly.
"You yourself have some experience with that sword, I can see." I said in a measured tone as I could tell that the sword she had was her own. Not one of the lower-quality weapons that the armory was stocked with.
But Daphne took my words to another direction as she shrugged and said coldly. "We are sparring with sharpened blades... If Lavender wants to use unarmed martial arts to deal with others. She is going to have to wake up to that's the hardest path of them all."
My lips twitched at her words but then recalling the Library of Heaven's Path, I decided to see if I could actually use it's most important effect in growing pages of enlightenment when I helped enlighten other's to their shortcomings and such.
As seeing Daphne's martial arts, I had already mentally collected her martial art in the Library of Heaven's Path and knew exactly where she was messing up
"Although you use a saber, you are chopping too much instead of using sliding slashes." I said, suddenly making Daphne blink before she scowled and said flatly.
"I think... That you should keep your opinion to yourself with how new you are to the magical world Jake Bariss." Daphne spoke with clear warning for me not to get ahead of myself in trying to tell her anything.
I just smiled thinly as I knew she had come to me for a reason. So with my thin smile, I just said casually. "You are using a wind-based saber art that, with each saber slash, you will be able to send flying wind blades at your enemies... The reason you yourself aren't at the stage of Manifestation in your martial art like I am. Is because you aren't performing the martial art correctly."
The people sitting a dozen feet away on the bleachers and partly paying attention to Daphne and my own conversation went quiet as Daphne's face twisted briefly in anger before she wrested control of her expression, and she stated blandly.
"Oh? If you are so sure, why don't you prove it then?"
Then, without waiting for a response, Daphne stood up and walked over to the clearing to the side, clearly wanting me to follow so I did.
And then she turned around with her cool golden eye's taking in my form, and I held out my hand,s and her face twitched as I said. "Five Galleons, and I need to borrow your saber for a moment."
Daphne sniffed and raised an elegant eyebrow before she smiled mirthlessly, and she drew her sword before stepping forward and turning it towards me hilt first.
"I will consider paying you if you sh-"
I silenced Daphne as I pulled at my magic as I closed my eye's and in a moment I could feel her barely high-grade martial art filling my mind again as I ran it through my mind.
Then I gripped the saber firmly in my hand while my arm went limp, and then I twisted my body and a scream rang out as a green wind blade flowed like river flew off the blade like a wave that carved through the grass and into the ground five meters away.
There was a pause... As not only Daphne just gaped at me for somehow picking up and learning her martial art's core technique in the Wave Riding Wind Blade. But even the other students paused at seeing me use clearly a whole different martial art.
With that, I held up the saber and with my other hand, I flicked the blade, making it keen as it vibrated at high speed as my mana ran through it like water through a river.
"This is a good blade... It absorbs my mana so easily, whereas the swordspear I was using was like trying to force water through a closed sieve." I muttered.
Then Hagrid's deep but quiet voice spoke out. "It's cause it's a good blade as you said Jake... What other martial arts have you learned?"
I jumped slightly at how Hagrid had fucking snuck up behind me but then a loud ringing rang out... Signaling the end of class but I knew, I still needed to answer.
And although I hadn't actually managed to teach Daphne anything to earn the Pages of Enlightment. I knew it was just a matter of time until people learned I was a 'genius' Now I just needed to make a reputation of being approachable.
"Ahhh, I don't know honestly. It's like whenever I read those martial art's books and manuals I just had them downloaded into my mind, and I can see the figures practising the martial arts clearly in my mind and combined with the thick descriptions I just match the decriptions of how it feels to my body to replicate the effect." I explained with Hagrid giving me a blank look.
Then he spoke more to himself than anyone else. "I heard about and seen a good number of genius's... But this kind of genius is new at least. Alright, you head on Jake and the rest of you are dismissed as well when you put any borrowed weapon away!"
Realing that lunch was on the way, the hungry late teens hurriedly moved to put their weapons away but a cough rang out and I was reminded that Daphne was still standing there awkwardly so I handed back her saber and she said quietly.
"Those five Galleons... They are in my book bag, so I will get them to you at lunch. Then, after you are done eating at twelve thirty, can you teach me how to get to the manifestation stage?"
Knowing all too well that she could be the key for me to being able to teach more people and getting stronger, I nodded obviously and said with an easy smile. "Alright sounds good. I need to put away my weapon and get changed, so I will see you then."
Daphne slowly nodded, and I realized as she was walking away... With a purposeful sway to her hips, that if I could help her reach the Manifestation stage of her martial arts. She would get a major leg up in suppressing Dorea Malfoy as the 'queen' of Sytherin.
'Hmm... I wonder if I could play them off one another.' I mused with an inner smile as I saw the platinum blond stomping into the changing room after my display and clearly coming to the same realization after I displayed an instinctive mastery of Daphne's own martial art.
And seeing Daphne and Dorea walking/stomping away. I could only say, mutter. "Damn. The forbidden peaches sure look sweet in those yoga pants and shorts." As both ladies were noble Pureblood princesses to say the least.
