For millennia, humanity kept latching onto them to stand above others. To dictate their own fates, to decide for the masses. However, not even once did they reflect on just where their futile desire would lead them...
This reckless endeavor was never meant to be realised. To defy the very laws of the world is to defy the whole point of their existence.
And yet, they never halted in their steps. Even when the years turned into decades, decades into centuries, and then... eons passed. The petals fell, the world transformed from the wandering place of nature and stone into a world of technology and devastation.
Everything that humanity touched or tried to alter, nature punished; nature portrayed the deadliest form of defiance. The fire burned till the sky wept; the water reclaimed its rightful land; the thunder reminded them that against the might of the order, their schemes were futile.
Still humans kept moving. Despite destroying all that nature had cherished, they kept moving. And for what? No one questioned this struggle, this mad drive towards something unachievable?
Even though, the dream was never meant to be accomplished?
The dream, if materialised, would fracture the very position of existence, resulting in utter chaos and suffering.
