I stopped reaching towards the door the moment that I heard this sound.
It wasn't as if this was a sound that was loud enough that could be heard normally. At the same time, there was a sound dampening effect in this place that would have stopped this sound from being heard.
But it wasn't as if they could fool my sharp ears.
Even if I didn't hear this sound, I would have already noticed that there was something off since I had been scanning this entire place.
I had heard the manager up above say, "Do it."
After I took my hand back, I reached out for another one of the doors.
While this was happening, I could sense that the people upstairs were also making their own moves as they prepared to switch it one more time. They were planning on forcing me into one of the dangerous rooms.
Even so, I didn't choose a door regardless of how they kept switching.
After all, I knew that this would only come to bite them in the butt.
