Truthfully, what happened next did not send a shiver down my spine. But I'd understand why it would happen to others if they were in my shoes.
I stopped swimming upwards and turned my entire body around, using the flowing movements of my legs and arms to keep myself floating in the same spot.
What are these? I pondered.
In front of me were these half-transparent figures. They looked similar to Tavros' current soul state, except they had no feet. Their clothes were torn here and there, and their faces were half-human, other-half mush.
I can't explain it but for some reason, despite resembling zombies in the form of a specter, it felt like I knew them.
They swam or "flew" towards me and circled my body. It felt like being a deer surrounded by a pride of lionesses, readying themselves to strike all at once.
Were they here to harm me? Were they here to scare me? Why did these figures appear before my eyes?
'My friend, what are you looking at?' asked Tavros.
