Chapter 829 - New Challenges 4

Torn plastic sheeting flapped weakly in the wind with frayed edges as it was hung over some parts of the gaps in the building where windows had yet to be put in.

There was a faint scent of rust and damp cement, mingled with a foul scent of something else.

A toppled sign with faded lettering warning that 'building in progress' lay face-down in the mud, showing signs of a promise that had rotted before it could be kept.

Many rust-streaked girders were jutting upward like broken ribs, while some parts of the walls had not been completely stacked.

It was quite an eerie and gritty scene to behold, as there were many parts that were left without having the finishing touches done on each of the floors, including the roofing.

Some parts even seemed a little structurally unsound in some locations, especially when viewed a little closer.

The scaffolding clung to the building as if abandoned there like a rusted exoskeleton.
